After searching & reading the writeup(s) on the SFMU, am I right that only the return line (-4AN) for the SFMU should be SS? (from test port to SFMU back to Tank) Keep the rubber supply line?

Currently there is what appears to be the Cartech (located under cruise) w/ rubber supply & return lines. Keep in mind I've got 440cc's & Walbro (no inline).

I know some of the guys here run rubber oil lines to/from there turbo. I definately would not though. Any rubber connection to the turbo, or wastegate will eventually crack due to the heat. I believe it was Corkey Bell who also said not to use rubber.

And I believe the feed line with the kits are SS, and the return line are rubber (low pressure, and they still always end up leaking), not the other way around.

Ok, seeing as how you still dont have an answer. I used the hahn metal fuel line to the SFMU with SOME fuel injection rubber line. Then I just used the rubber fuel injection fuel line on the way back to the tank.

I wasnt sure if I too should replace the supply line after doing the return line setup. Like ^^^ said, rubber will eventually crack, however I seriously doubt the factory supply line will anytime soon. Its not mandatory or anything, nor will it increase your HP, but its just one of those things that would be a definate plus. I have yet to do it myself. SS line isnt the easiest to work with anyway.

Interesting... so am I to understand that using stock supply & HRC's rubber line is okay w/ a Vortech SFMU?!? I was under the impression this was a no-no and SS was required on the return (which has yet to make sense to me as to why not the supply instead).

If that is the case, I would definately swap in the Vortech SFMU this weekend for DynoDay using existing Cartech rubber lines ... and swap to SS lines when convenient upon return.

A SS supply line would be overkill IMO. As far as my SFMU setup, which should be like the cartech one; the stock supply line is connected to the stock fuel rail and then a SS line goes from the fuel rail to the FPR (Vortec/ Cartec) and an Aluminum return line from the FPR all the way back to the tank. You shouldn't have rubber return line from the engine bay to the tank, it's dangerous. I did it but felt uncomfortable with it cuz it might get cut or kinked. BTW: I ditched my stock FPR with a bolt to keep the same filter and move the FPR to the shielded engine bay. Isn't there a thread already on this?? eh...

Wow, I completely answerd the wrong question. I was thinking you were asking about the oil supply/return line to your turbo. I need to read the full post next time.

I DEFINATELY would not use a rubber fuel line underneith your car. It's one thing when a rubber line wears out and starts leaking oil (which risks your engine seizing from oil starvation), but it's another thing to have a rubber fuel line hanging from the bottom of your car, where a leak = fire or even worse, an explosion.

Do lines running to your tank in SS, or solid piping.
