90181, concept illusions turbo kit stage 1 Posted by joeck76, Sep-30-05 06:02 AM
just wondering if anyone has put one on yet and can post what they think? it looks to me like there are still several parts missing, from what i can tell it needs a bov, missing link, and gauges. its not really a bad deal for the price from what i can tell i just wanna know what people think of it. also i could be wrong but i dont think it would be a bad idea to throw on a 1g or 2g smic as well, even for low boost but thats just me. what do all you turbo pros think? and ofcoarse this is an alternative to the already proven star and hahn kit.

I think that for what you get and the money, it's an okay deal. I wouldn't run more than 5 or 6 lbs of boost on it though, and CI kits will probably have a hard time making the power of a STAR or HRC kit.

Meh.
If you feel like spending your hard earned money to be disappointed....go for it.
I sure as hell wouldn't have spent 1600 on what youkickedmydog got. :shrug
My custom kit cost me around 1K with custom DP and exhaust

because we all know its better to go with the un-proven rather than the proven just to save a buck or two. Unproven and incomplete kits are always cheaper and better in the long run than the complete proven kits...(please note sarcasm!) :P There is a reason they are "unproven". i aint gonna turn this into a bash post, but CI has had plenty of opportunity to prove themsleves; and they have fallen flat regarding their "kit". If you do a search on CI or Concept illusions, you will have more info/drama to read about than a jackie collins novel! CI may be able to provide other smaller items of "quality" but as far as thier turbo kits go...trust us! Don't go there.

Turbo kits is almost installed. I have the oil lines run and blocked, missing link installed, I made a intake for it 3", hooked up my wideband, got a sfmu(in mail) ordered material to make a dp, ordered ss fuel hose, fittings, fuel pressure gauge, installed fuel pump, installed fuel filter, send back the dp and air filter... its going... lol. Hopefully it will be on and broken in by the 20th of october. The raseon its taking so dam long to install is because I work 40 hours a week and a full time college student. I dont have any days off, the closest thing to a day off is thursday, I get home at 12, and have untill 5(thats when mom gets home and kicks me out of the garage). The kit is... alright, you get what you pay for. Thats the bottom line if you want somehting that has directions go hahn or star, If you want to make a turbo kit but lack the means by which to weld then go CI. If you want pm me your e-mail and Ill send you more pics than you could ever want, I am not even going to try to post any pics here b/c CI will just get torn to pices.
