I know this has been covered before but I dont think there is an actual list of these. I'm thinking about taking this info and contributing to the "Turbos that fit 420a" Turbo tech page. Writers block right now so help me list them bad boys out!!!

it's totally manifold dependant, it has nothing to do with the motor itself. You can flange any manifold you make with whatever flange you want to match the turbo of your choice.

Yea, you can make any turbo work. But you got to mate the car with a turbo that suits your needs. Whether you want fast spool for autocross or dont mind a little extra alag for more power potential etc.

Maybe just make a bigass table that says the maximum horsepower a turbo can make, a link to a compressor flow map for that turbo, and what flange the turbo uses. Then the whole internet car guy community could use it.

Oh, I was mistaken then. I thought the turbo outlet had to be on the same side as where our air intake piping comes down. That's why I've heard noone wanting to put the Mitsu t-25 on their cars.

I wouldn't say they suck ass because mine pulls 8psi right to 7K RPM. They are kinda teeny weeny though. :P

ever heard of "throttle response?" T25s have it in spades. I drove a Civic set up for autocross with the T25 and it felt perfect. Instant spool-up has its own set of advantages.

Well I didn't think all turbos were compatible. People are telling me the one I have now isn't really compatible.

What kind of turbo is it.

There are a lot of other turbo's out now that have that "instant" spool characteristic. I guess if you are on an extremely tight budget and wanted a small, quick spooling turbo to get you a few extra ponies, then a t25 would suffice. But you and I both know it will never suffice. Get a disco potato if you want quick spooling with decent hp #'s.

Well not much I know about it. its an IHI Turbo and it came of some Subaru. I thought it was an WRX/STi, but then others told me the manifold is wrong and that this actuator is set at 7 to 8.5 psi. i spent $300 on this and the BOV in the other picture, I don't know if it will fit or not, I'll try to put the spec numbers up later tonight, but I'm just not sure yet if it's worth tryin to fit on if the turbo "sucks" If anyone knows anything about it or has an opinion, feel free.

No reason you couldn't make it work. get creative. Start taking to some of the guys here that have used T-25's and other turbos that mount that way.

Almost looks like a Mitsu flange. Post all the numbers on that ID plate...

97grnRS used an IHI turbo in his old custom kit. He got an adapter plate made and bolted it to his stock downpipe and ran a 14.3, with his 14B bolted straight to his stock manifold he ran a 13.9 with no traction.
Ask him about his setup, he doesn't have many good pics, but it worked.

I think you just don't know what you're looking at. The reason people are telling you it won't work is because the MANIFOLD is for a different car.. you have to take that off lol.

Its an IHI RHB5 series turbo. Flows about 380cfm.

Well then this is a "teeny weeny" turbo I'm sure. But I at least would like to be where the stock GSTs are as far as acceleration. Looking back on it now I'm SURE that I totally got ripped on this turbo only because I wasn't sure what I was looking at. But it has no shaft play and I've heard almost no turbo lag.

What do you guys think, good turbo to start off on, or will i get bored almost instantly??? (I also want to mention that it would be great just to KEEP UP with my buddies LS Integra, FD RX-7, and SRT-4. I mean at least not rev the shit outta my engine just to keep up when we're cruising).

I for one don't mind the T-25. Easy to find, cheap, and good response for daily driving if you are not looking for Max HP.

Alot of people jump on the T3/T4 and 16G bandwagon because they know somebody that know someboday that put dow X amount of HP on a daily driven vehicle that is able to take a Corvette.

Best advice is to research/search for yourself, learn to read a compressor map, and determine the best application for your goal.
IN the end, if you screw it up, you got no one but yourself to blame.

most turbos allow you to "clock" them to make them fit most applications. i think you can clock both sides so your oil drain flange is down and your cold side of your turbo can be on the drivers side.
