90060, Prep for Dyno Tuning... running out of time, Q's

Well... just found out Dyno Day in Orlando is looking to be (almost definately) Oct 8th @ $75/hr for tuning (ONLY 2x weeks away!). I've been working on Dave's car now since buying it for pretty much all 2+ weeks trying to sort out the major probs. Thankfully I've got the idle sorted now, although I'm still trying to straighten out the electrical mess.

Anyways, DJ's Vortech SFMU just came in, loox like a SFMU... I've seen the diagram, read the writeups, searched the boards, read the instructions (both Vortech's & HRC's)... I'm more looking for confirmation/assurance than anything else.

1.) As for physical installation, all I NEED to do is buy the proper fittings for the lines that were used on the Cartech & simply replace w/ the SFMU. Pleaz keep in mind RUBBER hoses are currently being used and NOT SS lines... am I foolish to even attempt w/ regular lines w/, am I better off just ordering the 15' of SS lines & replace at the same time? I was hoping to do as easy/quick (relatively) a swap as possible to not impose terribly much & could simply rerun SS lines when I return when convenient.

2.) Gonna PM DJ here in a sec to find how the SFMU is currently set (before opening), but w/ the Ford lightning 440cc & Walbro pump, I believe I'm looking for this:
SFMU Disk 2.72 w/ small black spring
Idle Pressure = ~18psi
Static Pressure = ~20psi
Boost Pressure @ 14lbs = ~80psi

3.) I assume since I don't have a datalogger (or FPR Gauge, yet... FedUp reports still on the way). I should NOT plop the SFMU in until I get up to Orlando (the day before, Fri) & install the same time James fixes the exhaust manifold leak. He's not familiar w/ the SFMU, rather the Vortech FMU, but said to just bring it up w/ me in hand.

I'm not really looking to increase boost, rather increase drivability w/ some relative certainty for safe operation (reliability). Trust me, having boost for the 1st time, it's more than enough for me... for now ;)

Any pointers or advice in prep for heading to dyno?

(if I'm rushing, lemme know... $150/hr seems to be normal down here for dyno tuning in South FL, considerably more but maybe worthwhile if I'm pushing my luck... if I'm just 'overly-cautious', lemme know that too ;))

P.S.
I've also got some 4G63 exhaust manifold studs & copper nuts (heh) coming w/ a new gasket just-in-case. Still looking for some heatwrap.

Am I pushing my luck by rushing?
