89895, fuel system setup... I know I am an ass.

Alright, I searched and didnt quite get a clear answer. I am hooking up my fmu and fpr today and I got a little confused. So far I get this.

I was wondering if Its the same as this

I would just go and do it but what throw me off is that the obx fpr that I baught has a vacume hookup, which is what I though was comming off the stock fpr. But about 10 min ago I went under the car and started to look around and discovered that it was my return line. So my question is will it work the way I depicted it in the drawing or will I have to run a return line off the fuel rail? TIA

You run a vavuum line under the car.

boy...I don't see why that wouldn't work. I'm sure that it's not optimal..but seeing that's basically how they come from the factory it should work. I would feel more comfortable running a return line from the rail though.

I would run your FPR as close to the rail as possible too. You are going to have a pressure drop being that far away. At least have a fuel pressure gauge/sensor near the rail so you know what the acutal FP is at the rail.

8edit*

n/m as I was typing that I forgot were you had what....I thought you had the FPR back by the tank and the FMU near the rail.

just buy an SMFU and do it normal damn it :P

as said above your diagram is correct you just have to run a vacuum line under the car and back to the fmu

You made the mistake of buying an OBX FPR?

Your going to need to replace it. I tried one before and I ended up buying the SFMU :)

The OBX will leak, and not hold constant pressure, its always changing. Trust me, you shall see, you shall see!

It came with the kit, I would like to get a sfmu, but I need money for tires and trying to get this turbo on the car.

Before you run gas through it sell it on Ebay as new. Wait 2 weeks and buy the SFMU. Don't ghetto-rig that shit. Its not worth it. Ehh, I guess if you decide to do it that way though, then at least run the vac. hose through the cabin so as not to get a major leak from road/tire damage...

:thumbsdown

^^^before you do that just remember your gonna need about $100-$120 in ss line and fittings too and if you get a fp gauge thats at least another 20 plus 200-250 for the sfmu, so if you do wanna sell the obx and get an sfmu remember it's gonna cost you at least 300 minus whatever you sell the obx for and it could run you up close to 500 if you get the sfmu new and the -6an to -4an reducers from vortech

i would say use that for now, you can get at least 50 for the fmu on ebay used i got 50 with buy it now saying i was unsure of the condition of the fmu that i had if you only put it on for a few miles before the sfmu you should be able to get at least 50 for it i think, sorry for the long post just givin ya some heads up of what your in for down the road if the obx does suck or you just decide to get an sfmu, i know i didn't really think of all the little things i was gonna need when i got my sfmu.
