I orginally bought 450cc dsm injectors for my future megasquirt setup believeing I would have poor atomization running low fuel pressures until then.

After my successful rebuild I did some stop and go for 25 miles, filled up on 93, reset the odometer and drove back to school using some back highway/country roads. It took 4-5 hrs, varied speeds between 35-80(tops), there was stop and go at traffic lights through cities. Total travel distance = 249 miles. Total fuel used = a hair over a 1/4 tank. This is at 16 psi fuel pressure on 450's ladies and gents on an un-broke in engine.

I think this is evidence that the dsm 450's have good atomization at low pressure.

how many gallons? a hair over a 1/4 isn't very accurate. The first 1/4 tank seems to go by alot slower than the rest. (each 1/4 on the gauge arn't equal I don't think in relation to the actual volume of gas used) But still that seems really good regardless... fill it back up and post how many gallons for real proof.

I know my gauge reads linearly because before I was turbo and on a 160k engine (at the time), driving from home would take almost exactly a 1/2 tank of gas, and if I didn't drive my car while I was away the return trip would empty it w/ just enough to pull into a gas station once I returned home.

I've been driving all week on that same tank of gas to try to rack some miles up :evilgrin

Evidence? I think not.

I know that the stock DSM 450cc injectors work well at low pressure, but just because you went 250 miles on approx. 1/4 tank of gas means absolutely nothing in regards to fuel atomization.

Isn't fuel economy directly related to efficiency to to burn all the fuel being used, which has to be atomized to do so?
