I know we push 60 - 70 psi at WOT so maybe that's why my turbo is smoking..........the silvia's T28BB has one becuase it isn't supposed to but I don't have an oil pressure gauge for that so I don't know how much it pushes.

Either that or the seals are going on this T25 turby. :shrug

WickedESi with the GT28RS has a oil restrictor meant for the ball bearing Garrett GT turbos. Also check your return line too, if it has a dip in it or something it will get backed up with oil and that will make your turbo smoke.

garret GT turbo's specifically say that they REQUIRE a restricter. their design reguires less oil flow and can actually be damaged by excessive pressure. i'm not sure how sensitive other turbos are too oil pressure though...

okay should you run a larger return line just for safety. My pressure line and return line are the same size :wary

Line is too small. Oil is backing up in the turbo and is being forced into the turbine and out the exhaust. Larger dump should help.

WHOA that is a tiny tiny return dude. Good position for it though.
What I did, is get a -8AN bung, weld that to the pan, then I got a 1/2" NPT to -8AN fitting for the turbo oil drain flange, and then I got two -8AN pushlock hose ends, put one on the bung the other on the oil drain fitting (use teflon), and then got a bigass rubber hose (I think it was 1/2" inside diameter) from Parts Source and a couple hose clamps and used that. AN fittings look totally badass and the line is flexible and very cheap :)

Not at the moment. I will get a pic for ya when I get home. All I gotta say, is that Earl's fittings lookin amazing. I am looking for excuses to use them in even more places in my engine :)

Your return line is more than likely the issue as the others said. A restrictor in your oil feed line really depends on the manufacturer and your center cartridge. +1 on using one for the GT turbos. I called turbonetics about mine after reading some stuff on nabr about this same thing. They only recommended a restrictor for excessive oil pressure (like a 6 bolt w/o balance shafts) but more than likely your 70 psi won't be to much. YOu can follow this link for a t3 restrictor -

Moral of the story is call the manufacturer, if possible, and see what they recommend.

Here's a pic of the oil return line by the way. excuse the mad dirtyness of my car. And the oil underneath is from when I pulled the old line off, quite a bit more then I was expecting came out :D as for the seepage... its been there from day one

I just decided this camera is too good. Shows too much of those dirt particles you can only see when you put your face right up to the dirty object in question.

I need a real downpipe, since mine ends just to the left of that picture, a real inlet pipe since my filter is rubbing on the radiator fan, a real charge pipe since mine is press bent exhaust stuff with rubber couplers (no BOV flange here either), and I need my manifold tapped for my deltagate :D a lot of stuff.

Well shit, I had my friend make my downpipe w/ flex section and cut out the cat and It only cost me $75 :) I'm also waiting for the rest of my intercooler pipong to be bent. I have a welder at the shop and can make pretty much anything.

I just can't help too much with you up there and me down here :P I( wish I could though :)
