I just purchased a 14b, and the compressor wheel is seized. What can I do to fix this problem? I also want to dissassemble the whole thing and clean it all out. I'm looking for a cheaper rebuild kit just to mess around on my own with. I had an n/a and am just experimenting with this to teach myself about turbos. I've done some searching and know that a rebuild can be from 200plus which I dont want to spend on (thats why I want a cheap one to just putz around by myself with) an entire reconstruction with balancing and all that. So I guess just to summarize it all.......tips on dissassembling, cleaning, cheap rebuild kit, anything you would like to add to aid in my self taught turbo lesson. Thanks!

Yeah I figured so. So is there anything I can do myself about the siezed compressor wheel or just taking it apart? Tips please for that and cleaning?

Don't replace any parts. Just pull it apart and clean it. You will likely find significant damage to the bearing surfaces. It might take $375+ to actually fix it. Probably better to buy another one.
