Well i usually don't really get on it, but i noticed that a couple of times my boost has gone just over 7 psi so today i decided to see exactly how high it would go...well at about 5500-6000 rpms i let off when i saw just shy of 10 psi, wtf? (hehe it was fun though)
I take the wastegate apart and there's no rips or anything in the diaphram and the adjustment screw is all the way out. There is a silver spring which i discovered from reading is supposed to be the 7psi spring, but when putting the wastegate back together i've gotta compress the spring a good 3/4" to an 1" to put the screws back in, is that normal? If that's normal does that mean anything else can be wrong with it, I don't believe its the vac line but i will double check tomorrow.
Finally, can i just go to home depot or lowes or something and try and get a similar sized spring that is softer or shorter?
Also when apart and blowing air into the boost port the valve moves up and down easily so i know that's not stuck.
TIA for any help anyone provides

check your vacuum lines. the assembly is normal and you have the spring the delta gate comes with. I never had a problem with mine in 4 years and i still have it. I am willing to get you have a vac line problem. the vac line should come right off the compressor housing and go to the boost port of the deltagate.

Yeah i'm gonna check vac lines tomorrow, but i cheated and i have the vac line coming from the manifold instead of the turbo housing to see 7psi instead of 5-5.5ish, i'm gonna switch that back and see if the valve opens then, but i didnt notice a leak when i checked tonite and i don't see why hooking it up that way would make a difference, thanks for some clarification though

yeah i tried that i can't find any leaks and the valve will open and close w/o a problem when its apart, for some reason it seems like the spring is just too stiff, i think i'm gonna have to buy the 5-7 psi spring for it and hope that helps otherwise i'm fresh outta ideas

ya but does it work if you blow on it while it's on the car with the car running?

it'll open at about 4psi with a real soft spring i found but its not made for the wastegate so i'm not gonna use that, and without a spring i can get it to open by just blowing in it when its on the car and its runnin
