8890, Update...
Posted by Semperboost, Nov-06-01 06:38 AM
Well I've been off the board since I moved into my new apartment but I did a couple things to my car
1) had that clutch installed = no difference. My car still feels like the same clutch, meaning it doesn't grab good and feels like stalling sometimes, AND my RPMS still dip real fast when i engage and disengage, but no change in engine speed. I think it might be my clutch release cylinder cuz my clutch fluid gets dirty for some reason.
2) I got a boost leak somewhere cuz my car's just not holding it and taking forever to spool. I dunno either intake or exhaust side
3) Installed the A/F gauge. It goes from rich - lean -rich at idle and just goes back and forth during normal op...useless
4) Had the dealer put in new stuff cuz of ball joint accident.
Thanks

Alvin

I dont know who gets more unhappy with their car, you or me.

If the rpms dont skyrocket UPWARDs in gear or stay in one spot right after you shift it doesn't sound like its slipping to much. I dont know about rpms dipping, try to launch/shift higher.

>I think it might be
>my clutch release cylinder cuz

Its a good possibility its jacked up but the fluid will get dirty in a day even with a brand new clutch slave cylinder and hard pipes. If you dont have to add fluid and it stays at the same level I wouldn't worry yet.

Thats what its suppose to do. Useless for normal operation and at idle. The only place its useful is at WOT in which case it can tell you something (sort of). At idle and normal opperation the PCM is capable of making the neccessary changes.

personally an EGT gauge would probably help you more when tuning.
