Alright i have a 1997 Eclipse RS...Now on this concept illusions site they have 3 different rebuilding packages...which package do u think would be good bc im planning on goin for 300 hp...also if anyone has a Concept illusions turbo on there car could u please lemme know if ure having any trouble at all with it bc it seems good to me....pm me with more stuff on that turbo as well...

First I want to say that your fairley new to the board...So I welcome you.

The best advice I can give you is to search this topic. It has been discussed several times in previous posts. People are not going to be happy with this thread because people ask this question alot.

Pretty much you have two options I will tell you for a turbo kit:

Hahn or Star....Dont even worry about any other means of turbo'ing your car.

Or you could just do the easy thing and do the 4g63 swap...Thousands have done it and I hear It's a weekend job!

You shouldnt tell the new people lies.. Seriouslly though, I feel bad when you guys to do this to new people because some people are dumb enough to really believe some of the shit and go and tare about their car and do the 4g63 swap.

I will tell you the truth

CI has this new kit, alot of questions are asked but at this moment I cant say I know anyone on this board that has installed their kit yet. I'm sure they will back their products because they do with everything else. As far as hahn and star go they are great kits too. Not a whole lot of help can be found on Star kits, and with Hahn its very easy plug and play no searching for extra stuff for the install, once you buy it check your shit and put it on. If you have troubles you can call them. But that is what these forums are for too. There are alot of knowledgeable people here that can help you out, we just ask that you use the search first because it can get frustrating answering the same question over and over, not only that but people may not even read the post if they see the title relating to a previous post. Search though and you'll learn alot. And dont listen to people that say 4G63 swap, we have major potential with our engine. Build and boost it.. I cant wait until I do.

The 4G63 swap really does steer you in the wrong direction.. unless your all about pretty much ruining the whole car because the mess wont even be worth it, not the mention the shit you fuck up in the bay while your in it.

I agree with madhatter on one point, and that is that you should give us constant feedback and lots of pictures of the parts, its packaging and the install. You would be doing a great service to alot of people here on the board, and I am sure Concept llusions would appreciate it to. If you could do an indepth review that would be awesome

Concept Illusions has awesome customer service. That and awesome prices set them apart from most've the other vendors. How many companies do you see posting regularly on this board to address any issues customers are having?

Regardless of the merchandise items they sell, it doesn't make a difference.

The "hype" of this turbo kit has been out there for almost a year. The "kit" itself has changed 4 times before it was even debuted. I have yet to hear any feedback on it besides Quote from sean rogers "it has been run on some local cars with great success".

The kit itself is now priced imo very close to the track proven kits that we all now. Its funny I think Tim,Chris, I and a few others have repeated the same thing 200 times. Yet when it all comes down to it, the question is always asked again and again and "CI" knows it yet there is really no answer given by them.

Now I'm not bashing on them but the fact remains. I only remember 2 threads where sean actually came in and well... addressed not answered a question(s) about the turbo kit. And quite frankly as far as there fabricating goes I will say its a very mixed review of 50/50 who are really satisfied with the results and outcome.And thats from online posts people,the shit we all have access to read.

As far as the retail aspect goes how can you really mess that up,

hrmmm.....order and payment in, ship the package. Field a question or two on exchanging a product because somewhere someone ordered the wrong stuff. Thats not rocket science.

So when alls said and done the kid up above^^^ thats waiting on his kit needs to do CI's job and document the whole thing with pics and shit and give us a weekly update on how the kits doing for the first month or 2.

And how if he has any, lets see how the questions are fielded when he has them during the install. And I think for real let CI field the questions that hes going to have when there posted.

I'm not going to rehash all thats been said and all the details that a few of us have but I'm very interested in what happens with this.

Sean and CI, I will eat all my words and even help you PR your kit if I'm wrong and I've said that before. You know some of the offers I had on the table a year ago on this subject and at the very least you should have followed through even locally. My post with this SN here won't ring a bell but you know who I am.Hence the reason I like to call the situation around this kit like I see it.

well MY experience with them was very positive. i got a defective item from them. i e-mailed them back and got a very quick response. they immediately sent out a replacement part express AND GAVE ME A FULL REFUND. i don't think anyone could possibly ask for anything more in terms of correcting a mistake on their part. with any vendor you always hear more about the bad experiences than the good. people don't regularly post about smooth transactions and products working as expected. you hear about things when they go bad. well i'm here to say that in my opinion they have awesome customer service. i'm not saying everyone's exerpience has been as such, i'm just giving my impression of their company.

i will most likely be ordering components for my custom kit from them in the near future. thanks again CI! :thumbsup

From what I've seen, they won't screw you, but they do their fabrication on a trial-and-error basis.

If CI disagrees, prove me wrong.

On day one. We've never been wrong. Its a gift. A gift from the DSM gods.

No disrespect to Concept Illusion as I have never bought anything from them or dealt with anyone related to CI. I much rather pay a little extra from a reputable shop, and go to bed knowing that I will get my parts in a timely matter.

Still the CI turbo kit is questionable IMO. I have yet to see one installed, or a picture of the final product. I guess we will just wait and see.

To be honest I think its going to die, he just got the manifold, downpipe thing situated but I checked out the hahn site today and now they offer their manifolds and turbos and ect. sold sepperatly for custom setups. Also I have been wating so long for this kit its not even cool. If its always goiong to take this long to get I dont think anyone will be getting them.

I would be a little frustrated too, and I hope they are reading this for their sake

hahn's been doing that for quite some time now... long before concept illusions hit the market i'm pretty sure :shrug
