i've got oil coming out of where my oil cap is since i turbo'd the car, guess i'll try a new one and see if that helps, but i was just curious

You may be pressurizing the head under boost. Is it coming out of your valve cover breather filter too?

Also, you could pull out your dip stick while the engine is idling and look for puffs of smoke.

A common cause of pressurizing the head is either a blown head gasket or by getting blow-by past the rings.

Is it a built engine? How long since it was built? How much boost do you run?

stock engine and hg was done about 30k miles ago 5.5-7psi, not sure if its coming out the valve cover, i don't have a breather, i actually still have that hooked to the intake pipe (i was tryin to find out if that was ok but never got a clear answer maybe i'll get a breather and cap the nipple on the pipe, cause i guess that would cause pressurized air to go in there the way it is now) i'll check tomorrow, but it looks like its just coming from the oil cap

You shouldn't have it that way - you will blow seals next!!!!

you should look into getting a catch can. they're cheap, and it beats running that line back into the intake and getting oil inside your pipes!

In the line between the one valve cover and the intake mani, thers a pvc valve... it may be possible that that valve for some reason is stuck shut and the pressure is forced out of the oil cap.

Also running that line from a vlave cover to a catch can sucks b/c you then have an open hole to your vac source(hint) go to home dept and get 4 hose clamps and if I am not mistaken its 3/8 inch hose and you will need a t fitting (3/8) run that line from the vlave cover to a huge black vac source from the other side of the mani... or thats what I did untill I get board and decide to block it off compleatly.

I had to replace my oil cap.

I have some blow by, 195 across the board on the compresson.

how do you figure it sucks?.. you just put the sucker in-line with your vac source, thus "catching" oil that comes out!. i dunno. i use it. it works. i have no oil in my pipes, and its better than running a breather filter.(especially where i am, since you can get fined heavy for that)

i dunno exactly what you mean, but if youre refering to that hose thats rerouted back into the intake( crankcase ventilation?) i have that rerouted into the intake side of the turbo (i dont have a compressor port so i plumbed a fitting in just after my air filter). i just have an oil catchcan inline with that because i was sick of getting oil in my pipes. is this a bad thing? i havent run into any problems yet. the only problem i have with my setup is goddamn turbo lag! but there are many excuses for that!

Ok, cool, theoretically you should be safe, but just those PCV check-valves always tend to leak a *lot* under boost.

well hoping that its not blow by, the problem is solved, i got a fatter o ring for the cap and now no leak
