how much hp can the gst, gsx handle with stock internals?

my friend has been pushing his GS-T with 15psi for about a year now. He pushed it up to 18 for a month or so. The internals held pretty good but it killed his map sensor so he put it back at 15 and nothing has happened. and he pushes that little thing hard as hell too.

cool cuz im thinkin of selling the gs and going for the gsx or gst. so i want to know how much hp stock internals can handle so i dont blow my ish up. did ur friend have all stock or did he upgrade turbo?

He has an upgraded turbo. All internals are stock though. Im not sure if a stock turbo would handle 15psi. All I know is his internals do. You never know though. He might have one of those super GS-T's. Id be careful either which way

he has a super 16g turbo and front mount intercooler, cams, cam gears, exhaust, intake, bored TB, high-flow cat, 3" downpipe, and a 50 shot of nos. he also has a massive amount of work done on his fuel system. I THINK msd ignition, 3000gt FP, vortech FPR, bigger injecters (not sure size) plugs and wires of course, S-AFC for fine tuning and a bunch of cosmetic stuff!! he just hasnt had time or money to do a rebuild but I think hes doing it soon since the car is a 96 and almost has 100k miles on it.

can i safely just up the boost to for more hp

I would think you should beable to up the boost but I dont know how much a stock turbo can hold...a year with 15psi is a long damn time...I think its safe

Stock internals can hold upwards of 450hp. There was a 94 GS-Turbo at the Shootout that dynoed 410hp to the wheels through a cat (meaning pump gas), and stock internals.

If you get a 2nd gen, that Turbo (T-25) will only be good for about 15psi. You can safely up the boost to 14-15 with that turbo on the street. 15psi on a T-25 is a lot different than 15psi on a Big 16G.

My roomate's automatic 97 TSi AWD ran 12.2 at 112 a few days ago at the track. Not too shabby.
