hey guys i'm getting ready to install my sfmu and I just want to make sure my fittings are straight before I order them. I will be using rubber fuel hose. I searched around and found out that I need 2 -6AN to 3/8" barb fittings for the sfmu. The fuel rail is where I have the problem. I know that the test port is a -4AN male fitting and its real hard to find a female fitting that goes straight to barb. I found this at summit

Do you think I can clamp the 3/8 hose down tight enough to work? Any sugestions or other ideas?

most people would probably say use s/s braided fuel line i was gonna use rubber but followed what everyone else said and got exact part numbers for everything i needed from the sfmu diagram on the mods page http://www.2gnt.com/nuke/modules.php?name=Sections&op=viewarticle&artid=82

I was gonna try and save the cash, but for about $150 (less if you don't get a fp gauge and buy the fittings to reduce to -4an from somewhere other than vortech) i think it was the right decision

If your gonna stick with rubber lines you can probably just use one of the female -4an end fittings from summit like the one you found or the ones listed on the sfmu diagram for the fuel rail fitting

I strongly suggest to you not to run rubber fuel lines under the car.
use rubber in the engine bay and near the tank but not under the car.

So I take it you are a 96+ fuel system then? I checked your profile but it's not listed. If so you are on the right track. If not and you are 95 then use the stock return not the testport

yea i have a 98 so I'm going to the test port. Well I called up summit and the guy there suggested I not use that fitting b/c its too small to clamp to that 3/8 hose. So now I'm stuck. theres gotta be somebody on here whose using rubber hose from their fuel rail to the sfmu. What fitting are you using?

Ok well I cancelled my order after consideration and I'm not going with rubber hoses. I did find some 14 ft 4AN nitrous lines at good prices. Would they be sutable for fuel return?

yea i actually ended up finding a place near me that sells SS lines at a really resonable price. They're on ebay too for anybody who needs line I think their seller name is "ifounditonbay" Thanks everybody...... unfortunatley you'll more than likely be hearing more from me this weekend hahahahaha

now have fun getting the fittings on, that's the biggest pain in the ass after that its simple, i asked about how to do it a week or two ago and people came up with some good hints, if you need check on the first or second page in the turbo section and it should be there somewhere
