Okay, I'm going to the dyno next week to tune my car at 15 psi. I want to get everything else setup where I need it before hand because I'm only gonna have one hour on the dyno. So does anyone possibly know or have settings for 15 psi on a profec b II controler? I don't want to go out and mess w/ the controller to get to 15 psi because all I have right now is a voltmeter and I won't really know how well the car is tuned until I get on the dyno. So I'm asking you guys to help me set my profec to 15 psi because I don't trust running that high of boost until after it's tuned on the dyno.

The settings will vary widely from engine to engine. Sorry, man... it's something that you're going to have to do before or at the dyno.

Like Doug said, it's gonna be different from setup to setup, but you are welcome to try my settings. Disclaimer: if these settings mess your engine up, it's not my problem.

Set - 44%
Gain - 15%
Set gain - 0.96 kPa
Warning - 1.15 kPa
Warning - L.20%

On my setup with a 16G, these settings yeild a peak boost of 200 kPa (14.7 PSI) at 3700 RPM's, and the boost pressure slowly goes down to 185 kPa (12 PSI) by 7000 RPM's. I wish I could run more boost pressure, but these 415's are completely taxed at 83% duty cycle at peak power, which is *roughly* 300 BHP.

Profecs are so easy to tune man......

I used my automoeter boost gauge to watch the boost pressure and played with the set boost and found 15 psi to be about 45%.

Profecs are easy to tune. The spec 2 has a feature that even shows you the max boost that you reach so you can see exactly how much boost that you made.

I also thought my Profec was easy to tune.

Step 1 - RTFM
Step 2 - try some conserative settings and go for a drive
Step 3 - update those settings and play with it until you get good response, but no spikes

Don't forget that it's a lot easier to tune if someone else is driving and you are sitting shotgun with the laptop/boost controller/whatever

its easy to tune once you know what the hell each of the 5 settings do. Thats the only thing that threw me for a lop. it took me forever and a day to get them right because i had no idea where to even start. once you set one setting, it effects another and if you have an issue, its hard to know which of the settings to adjust to correct it.
in my opinion, its a pain in the ass to work with percentages of "X" function when trying to dial in the correct "boost" and "responce". and onother thing that irritates me is that its a pain in the ass to deal with Kpa and bar instead of psi. (i know it reads in psi)
anyway... im just rambleing now....

i like my profec B spec II now that i have it set good. its a good unit.

I can show a dyno of what it looks like when its set like shit....

I don't know. I never had any issues. I read the manual. Figured out what each stupid ass setting would do. Set it to track the high boost for a run. I put in some very conservative settings in and took it for a spin. I didn't have anyone in the car so I basically did 2-5k runs in 2nd on some back roads. I just watched for boost response, spikes, and fall offs (of course while watching A/F ratio). Took me about 45 minutes to have a 10psi low setting and 15 psi hi setting that I really liked.

Alright, well thanks guys for your help thus far. Nathan, those settings are exactly what I'm looking for, and since I'm also running a S16G I'd think those settings would work pretty good w/ my car. I might as well test it out though before next week to see how it works.

Thats how I did it.

9 and 15 psi.

I just love how you can be boosting 9, hit the high boost button and it feels like a sick shot of nitrous :P
