87454, why do i have a boost loss? Posted by 97grnRS, Jun-29-05 08:24 AM
well i know for sure i have no boost leaks anywhere. but the prob is . if i go WOT starting in 1st i will boost to my full 8 psi like i have the boost control set for, but then when i hit 2nd the highest boost will go is 5-6 psi max.. and 3rd i havent tried but 2nd gear i am supposed to be getting 8 psi but it stays around 5 at WOT.. but the dumb thing is if i am in 2nd and i give it like 3/4 throttle it will easily boost to 8 and stay there.. so what could this be? i have a home made boost control and it works fine so i doubt its that but i dunno.. its only aat WOT that is stays at 5 and only in 2nd gear.

It must have been the problem then... It's harder for your turbo to spool when your rpms rise slower (aka later gear).
