alot of people i talk to say dont do it, it will be a waist of money and a lot of headachs. what are the biggest problems you have with goin turbo? im sure if u run low enough boost every day your not gonna have problems. correct?

it worth it for sure. This way you still pay insurance on a non turbo model. You have accomplished something at the end of it. The biggest problem is detonation, if you run too high of boost with poor fuel management, or no intercooler, or stock internals, you will inevitably cook your engine.

If your compression is good and the engine is mechanically sound, then forced induction should be fairly safe. Just be careful when adjusting boost. If you are not intercooled (everyone should be in my opinion) then dont go any higher than about 5-6psi. If intercooled you can safely do about 8-10psi on stock internals.
The hp gain is incredible and turbos are just so fun!
Search around this site and you will come up with lots of info.
If you are not mechanically inclined, I don't suggest it though.

Who says that? People that haven't done it?

The hardest part for me was funding the kit, and mine only cost a little more than 2k because it was custom (w/ better parts than a hahn stage 2). Once I had the parts it was a peice of cake. Oh yeah, and once you boost, you'll never go back...

Only setups that have numerous problems, are ones done incorrectly. A turbo on your car doesnt magically make it unreliable. The knowledge and habits of the owner/driver/tuner do. Like ive said a million times before...and you can take this advice or laugh at it...do NOT boost your NA engine, until you also have the money to rebuild your complete shortblock then NEXT day if you needed to. If you put a turbo on the 420A, it WILL blow eventually. Maybe 3 years....maybe 3 days. you never know....but i always subscribe to the "do it right the first, or not at all" camp. Goodluck.

I made my own setup and have been running it for a year and a half now. Not a single problem has occured, and Im running 12psi with 10.5:1 compression. Soon I will be running atleast 15psi when I play with the ignition on my MS.
