LAST EDITED ON 04-Nov-01 AT 09:51 AM (PST)

Just some automotive teflon tape and some vacuum hose (If you want the stage 1 piping to fit easily or have a strut bar you want to keep on you'll need a pipe cutter and welder)

8736, Will the intake pipe be too tall for the STB

to go over top of it?

Does YOUR modified stage 1 pipe allow the use of a STB.

My current STB sits up high(suspension techniques)and allows me to remove my oil cap and has over 1.5 inches of clearance between my 3 inch intake piping and the bar. Watcha think stan the man?

Does the star downpipe include a flex section prior to the cat attachment point? If it does not, is the pipe at least long enough to connect to the cat?

Thats a pic up top of the modified pipe with the STB in place so no I dont have any problems using it (or getting my oil cap off). The Star stage 1 BOV actually sits in the hump over the battery so I dont think a STB can be used with it unmodified.(why I dont know when there's so much room in between the battery and engine).
No the downpipe doesn't have a flex section but mine bolted right up with no problems. I dont forsee putting in a flex section at this point but I suppose it couldn't hurt to have one. I also have a solid FMM so there's less movement. The whole exhuast is on hangers so when the engine flexs the whole exhaust can move easily (just stick you hand under there and move it and you'll see).

teflon paste...the tape could possibly clog fuel lines. always use paste

Ahh I see you are turning to the dark side Deano, what happened to that all motor goodness? hehe anyway the star stage 1 piping is a bitch if you have them put the BOV on for you. What I did is saw off the BOV section and get two couplers and made it point downwards. Worx great and you can move it anywhere you want in the piping. It should clear the strut tower bar either way. hehe ready to run ESP with the big guys, I'm not? :P

Grrr it's gonna eat you up!

Its only applied on the oil fitting threads. For nitrous I use loctite blue 242
