I just finished my turbo setup, the car seems fine except that after a minute the exhaust is a white blue smoke. Funny thing is, if I revved the engine up, the smoke goes away, until it is back at idle again.

I took the downpipe off so I could see inside the turbo, after a few minutes, oil starts coming out the exhaust side of the trubo very slowly, hencce the blue smoke. What would cause this? Do I need to replace the seals in my turbo? I checked the return line, there is no restrictions in it.

oh yeah I am also running -6AN oil feed lines and -10AN oil return. Is -6An too big? Should I restrict the flow? The turbo itself has an oil restrictor at the feed opening though.

6an is wayyy to big. drop to 4an or 3an like most kits come with. you might be fine.

What turbo do you have? If its a garrett the smaller feed line will prolly solve your issue. Garrett's have a piston ring type oil seal.

Oil might not be draining properly into the pan and getting backed up into the turbo. Check the drain line. That happened to a friend of mine's car and he wound up having to put new seals in.

there is a restrictor at the oil feed inlet on the turbo, so would it really matter what size hose I use there? If the opening is only so big, only that much oil can go in right? Yes it is a Garrett turbo

The exiting pressure from the restrictor is a function of the pressure going into it. It sounds like your seals are bad though.

If i remove the oil feed line, and hook up a hose to it, should I be able to blow through it without restriction? This is with the oil drain still hooked up into the pan.

I tried this,

and it is wayy easier to blow through the hose when it isnt connected to the turbo. Does the oil have to go through small passageways or anything like that? Or should it just be free flowing?

I replaced the feed line with -4aN

Works like a charm, no more oil leaks or blue smoke! Thanks guys:thumbsup
