Looks really good, IC piping looks very cleanly done. Over the winter get the top half of the intake Ceramic Coated High luster and you will be happier you did, it will look very nice and not scratch.

Damn, that is a nice engine bay. I hope mine turns out half that well.

How much did it cost to chrome the IC pipes (I am assuming they are custom) and where did you have it done?

:thumbsup

I think they are just polished, not quite as shiny as chrome I don't think but i could be wrong.

And it does look good.

The intercooler piping is all polished aluminum. I had it done myself. Everything was cut up in my garage then welded together. I didn't relize that the bumper was missing so thanks for pointing that out. I am going to replace the over fill tank with a new stock one soon.

Here are the details about the car:

Walbro 255 LPH fuel pump
Vortech FMU 12:1
Scandelous Racing 2.5" down pipe
Scandelous Racing 2.5" polished intercooler piping
RDM 28x9x3 intercooler
Missing Link 003
GReddy 52mm Boost and EGT gauges
Turbonetics T3/T04e ball bearing turbo

DAMN those are clean welds... have you been welding a long time? How the hell can I weld like that? I'm about to start welding my downpipe and such soon and would like to learn any tips or tricks. I have a pretty damn good MIG welder at my disposal.

Instead of starting a whole new tread I though I would just add a pic I found of my engine bay...its the only one I could find.

Still need to do something with my manifold and hotside because they are rusted pretty bad!

Oh yah and I want a optima redtop...anyone wanna trade for my yellow top? Its not even half a year old!

EVERYONE POST PICS OF THEIR ENGINE BAY!

I am in the mood for seeing some sweet turbo'd bays!

I'm gonna take a wild guess that the paint on your IC pipes and valve cover is car paint with real clear coat...

As for the hot side of the turbo, just get one of those chrome covers for it. They look sweet, and you seem to have NO problems with the $$$ aspect.

Yea besides the poop coloured overflow tank it looks pro. :D

haha Agression, nice valve cover.

Here is mine, nothing special, I just like to keep it looking clean.

Actually both the pipes and VC are powdercoated! I was going to get the mani and hotside ceramic coated, but I heard the shine doesn't last long! So I am going to get it jethot coated while I am rebuilding the motor.

Wow I love the was Agression's VC looks. I'd post mine, but it is just soo typical Stage 2. Nothing to write home about.
87273, RE: Engine bay picture
Posted by ryansiefring, Jun-24-05 09:30 AM
YEAH, the shine doesn't last forever, but with some wheel polish i am able to shine mine back up to it's original glory.

Holy crap, you can get that kind of deep shine on a powder coat job??? I know what I'm doing with MY ic pipes now! I have a friend who does powder coating for a living in Tampa. I was just gonna get my DP, mani and turbo ceramic coated but now I think i will also get my IC pipes powder coated blue like yours. (I have a thing for blue engine components, which is why I loved your engine bay and hated it at the same time :D)

why yes it is gunmetal i sand blasted it in the paint both while i was in the navy and painted it gunmetal with the wheel paint at autozone. it came out somewhat ok in my opinion.

Don't do blue. Its the worst color you could possibly choose. I and Agression both regret it immensely. Please dont do blue. :7

Here's mine. Both valvecover and IC piping were powdercoated blue.
The mani and hotside were coated and it has lasted extremely well.

Maybe your underhood is just "All Business" but with as "done" as your car is on the outside I say lose some of the colors underhood and get some of the paint you sprayed the car with and bring the outside in so to speak. That's for the guy above me.

Thank you, sir. I couldn't find any pics last night of the bay with the hood, STB and all that installed, but I'll snap a couple tonight after the wash. And, just to clarify, it's flat, Rustoleum black on the bay, 1200* "Bling-In-A-Can" on the engine, and Gunmetal wheel paint on the VC and other bits (brackets, bottles, etc.).

I loves me a good engine bay picture thread. }(
