86908, lost brakes after boosted?
Posted by tim96rs, Jun-14-05 03:23 PM
I lost braking power after boosting today. I can drive around not in boost and have brakes. Is there a check valve on the brake booster line cause I don't find one. Please help thanks

Some have it tim, some do not.
Looks like you need one eh?
I've never had this issue so I don't know the details but you can find out how to install the check valve by searchin. I've read the post, just dont know the details.

Sorry for being no help ;)

yeah some have it in the line from the intake manifold to the booster. it should be a two section hose.

i'm not sure about earlier year models, but the 98-99 have the check valve press fitted inside the hose. you can't see it but if the squeeze the line you can feel it. i think mitsu. sells the hose/valve as one part.

Why are you hitting the brakes while in boost anyway? let off the throttle, brake.

Left foot braking? "Launching" from a roll? Building boost pressure while braking in a turn to get ready for accelerating after the apex?

Pressure from the turbo even after decel keeps the booster from working for a few seconds. I get it every time I make a pass. Tim, I wish I had the part number, but Nissan makes a fucking awsome check valve that works for this, I used it on my 350z. Try a dealer and tell them to look up a check valve, if your lucky the parts guy will find it.

(sorry may be a dumb question just wanting to know)

I fixed it!:+ I used a 800psi industrial check valve. Works great. It has a all brass body.

It is a "used" aircraft part. I work for a aircraft CO.

How many of these "used" aircraft parts can you get?
