I have oil leaking out of my brass sending unit on the back of my block. I have the hahn stage 2 kit and Their was tefflon paste on it when I put it on. Just wonder if there is a better sending unit peice or what I can do because its been leaking for about a year now.

be very careful with brass sending unit blocks. the larger the assembly is, the more likely it will crack. Me, as well as other employees have had this same thing happen. All of the adapters stuck out too far, and my guess was that engine vibration caused the brass to crack, and spill out quarts of oil.

Before all that happened, I had a slow leak like you. So i would check it out to make sure it isnt cracked. if all is well, re-teflon the threads, and reinstall. should solve the problem

Instead of using teflon, find something else.

I dont remember the name of it, but I use this brown, thick, gooy crap I found at Autozone. Works great. I use it on all my lines.

good shit, but i cant stand that stuff. If you get any on your hands, it looks like you were playing with turds, and it doesnt wash off.

If you dont mind an ugly appearance, you can just get under there and use your finger to apply rtv. Mine was leaking pretty bad through the threads even with thread sealant. A big glob of rtv around each of the connections fixed it up. Messy and ugly though. I used a cast iron T from my work and it is a bitch to get off with the motor still in the car due to the oil line fitting hitting the block and having to use a pipe wrench to get it off isn't so fun either.
