86015, major problem running lean Posted by actingrezy, May-15-05 10:19 AM
alright. my car sat for almost a year. im running the vortech fmu, 415cc injectors with safc. i have 4:1 disk in fmu. before it broke down it was put on dyno and tuned for 12-13psi. i was running a tad rich at that point. i had a sfmu but sold my sfmu to help pay to fix my car. now i get it back and at 10psi im running lean and i have no idea why. my safc setting are all the way up and same disk in my fmu. at 5000rpms it goes from rich to lean and my egts skyrocket. i have no idea would could have possibly happend and its really frustrating me because i cant even get on it because of this problem. the only thing that was wrong with the car was the cluth so i do not understand why it would come back and be running lean. i know i need to buy a sfmu again but if anyone could give me some suggestions that would def. be great. im really pissed off i waited all this time and cant even use the damn car like i want.

if the fmu is tuned the same as the sfmu then it shouldn't make a difference.. HOWEVER.. since you are running the FMU now, did you remember to put the stock fuel pressure regulator back in?

If you have a 97-99
Look under the car on the passenger side infront of the back wheel. You should see it by the fuel pressure regulator and there are hoses on each side of it.
If you have a 95-96
Its like you said under the res.

Maybe you are too rich up top. What are your FP's? What type of a/f gauge do you have the blinky light kind? Have you messed with the safc setting from where you had them?

Why does it always seem all kinds of things change on a car while it's just sitting .... :scratch
