Dyno'd today, 123.1 whp at 5 PSI. Stock auto tranny. It wouldn't redline. On the plus side though, managed to hit 147 mph in like minute :D

Hmmm, do you have a dyno sheet with AFR?

Damn, that just sounds way too low man. I would be stunned if those #'s are correct.

Oh, you don't like altezza's? Too bad, your gonna get a good look at mine.

You should buy my complete manual swap :).

But yeah, there was just a post where someone hit 199whp at 5psi.

Oh, but I guess he has a larger turbo. What do you have? I see Hahn parts in there..

Yea its wierd, I was expecting at least 160 whp. I'll post the dyno sheet in a bit im at school right now. The turbo is the Hahn S16g... The guy that dyno'd it said that he didn't really know how to dyno an auto so maybe that's what was messed up...

im thinking there is something wrong with your car man. this kinda just adds to the really low 1/4 time. done a compression test lately?

I'm going to do one right now. I hope the rings aren't bad, I spent way too much on this car and don't have any extra cash to burn.

What type of dyno did you dyno on? The type of dyno you use greatly affects the results.

I've dyno'd on a dynojet everytime. From what I hear dyno results on a mustang dyno are lower. Just as a point of reference, the last dyno I did on my car while NA and AT was 120whp and 122ft-lb. When I converted to manual I went up to 127whp and 119ft-lb (this was with 2 mildly bent rods).

i dont think the problem is the dyno. he only ran a low 16 in the quarter. i think he's got something else wrong. what were your afr's? do a comp test also

Something is wrong dOod.

Where in town did you dyno it?

I'm rolling into Calgary on saturday to get some goodies for the silva. We should hook up cause I wanna check out your car!

but yeah, pr0 those numbers are not so good. if that 350Z got smoked by you though, you must have more power then that... if the guy doesn't really know how to dyno autos then that might have something to do with these numbers

I would'nt pay the money to have my car dyno'd if the guy doing it does'nt know what he is doing. Not that it makes a difference really but your not intercooled rite?

Dyno'd at Concept-1. But yea, if you want to come check it out I'll be at home :D I live right by South Centre Mall.

Bumpintalon you should come by too. I want to drive your talon n/a and see if im actually loosing power, you can test drive my car.

Yea not intercooled... yet... But yea he didn't charge me the full price, I paid just over 20 bucks. My friend with a CA18 thinks the dyno is wrong because his car puts down 180whp and my car picks up just about the same as his (except for the tranny shifting like a grandma haha)

but didnt you say it wouldnt redline? that aint right either. did you do that compression test yet?

Yea he said it wouldn't redline. But im guessing its the tranny's fault... I'm going to do the comp test tomorrow, its been raining a lot lately so I haven't gotten around to doing it yet. I got 180 on all four a couple months ago.

I sent you guys a pm, if you're in town you can stop by. :D

The RPM that he was able to take it up to is normal for an automatic. I believe they are limited to around 6500 RPM's.

I got all kinds of free time this weekend, PM me your phone # and I'll give you a call if I'm coming into Calgary
you gotta be gentle with my car on the 1-2 shift though, its been shiftin rough lately :) I'll bring that amp too, but I still haven't gotten it fixed. just in case you wanted to take a look at it.

That printout doesn't look right. The Y axis scale is the same for both torque and horsepower, but they don't cross at 5252 RPM's...?

Also, you have a huge torque hole around 4800. Check your mixture. The best way to do that is to gain access to a wideband.

EDIT: Eh, never mind... The scale is a tiny bit off, it's hard to notice in the picture, so I guess they really do match at 5252.

the a604 redlines at 6500.

Sorry to bump my thread again but I just did the compression test and came up with 180 on all four Cylinders. So is there anything else I can check? I'm guessing the guy screwed up when dynoing...

5psi- so you've got more air what about the fuel? do you have an fpr?

More air+more fuel= more power! you are missing one or the other
86250, RE: 123 whp @ 5 PSI

Alright, I'll need to get an Air/Fuel gauge. Right now I don't have one so I can't tell if im running lean or rich... I've got the Cartech Billet FPR.

There's your problem right there. It's a Fuel Pressure Riser, not a Fuel Pressure Regulator. Cartech's site is wrong. Anyone that tells you that it's a regulator is wrong. The way HRC uses it with their kits is incorrect. It works, but not very well. You will never get a stable static fuel pressure with it. I use my old Cartech unit as a paperweight on my desk. At least it looks like a cool flying saucer or something.

Do you have an EGT gauge? That will give you at least some idea of the health of your setup. Viewing the output of your factory narroband oxygen sensor will put you in one ballpark or another, but to tune a turbocharged 420A setup so it runs "well" you will need at least a boost gauge, an EGT gauge, a wideband oxygen sensor (you don't have to buy one if you don't want to, most dynos will rent them), a datalogger, and an SAFC.

Installed the turbo backwards, eh? j/k. I said that coz it seems the turbo robbed you some horsepower.

Yeah at 4100 rpm you're starting to loose everything. I didn't know you could mess up the AFR that bad and the engine still run. Could the tranny be taking a crap?
