85439, up to what boost is non intercooled safe??

well ive been runnin max 8psi for a while now non i cooled . i had a greddy smic but i did not like the accelleration loss that happened when i put it on. i dunno why but it was slower for sure. but i just wanna know what is the max i can be without IC for ever basically. i may get a front mount if i have to but i dont wanna lose that power again. i know 5-6 is ok but 7.5-8 is where im at. and its getting hotter by the day outside.

I would not exceed 5 psi on stock bottom end with stock injectors with out an intercooler, especially isnce summer is just around the corner. Put eh SMIC back on. You probaly just had a boost leak.

I would have to agree with Scandelous. I'm running 5 psi and its already getting hot. As for your intercooler, maybe the piping diameter is too big resulting in your slower acceleration... For low boost you would want skinny pipes.

about how skinny? im running 2.5" piping direct from turbo to throttle body? i feel my piping after a hard drive and its warm but not too hot . so i dunno. i sold the Side mount.. i may just get a nice looking front mount when i get the cash.

pick up a starquest FMIC...easy cheap upgrade that popular with quite a few DSM's. they are usually all over the place on the trader.

not that hard to find and install an intercooler. I got a MX6 one for sale if you want one hehe..

anyway I would make sure you have a AF ratio gauge and EGT gauge and then just check your egts whenever you boost.

5 psi tops.

get a supra sidemount, small pipes and good couplers. I didnt notice any real acceleration loss and I have a not so great flowing STAR FMIC
