85176, spark plug issues with turbo.

well ive been running NGK bkre6-11 plugs on my turbo rs for a while and i had them gap to about .030 . but i recently bought ngk bk7re plugs and gapped them to .030 also cause i was told they were the best plugs for turbo, but now my car has a slight hesetation when i gun it. it like the power dont kick in till about 2 sec after i floor it. i think the plugs caused this cause it never used to be like this. what do u all recommend? i may have to switch back to the other plugs. i dont see why this would happen but it is.

i use bkr7e, not the e-11's. i think the bkr6e-11 are a hotter range than the 7e, but i could be wrong on that. as for your gap, try gapping to 035. check your gap again though, just last week when i changed the plugs in my girls car, i gapped them all what i thought to be 1.4 and it was misfiring at idle, so i double checked them, and one was at 1.8, how i dont know, but it fixed it. go over your shit again and then if that dont work, i guess go back to your old plugs. just throwing you 2 cents outta my pocket...

You can use BKR7E-11 or BKR7E. Only difference is the gap they come with. BKR6E-11 is stock and is one range hotter than the BKR7E-11. Maybe you screwed something else up while you were at it. Perhaps a plug wire is not fully seated or something.

Put your old plugs back in and throw the new ones, thats what I would do. But get super pissed so when you throw them you can use your HE MAN strength, throw em back to japan.

BKR7E are the correct plugs, BKR6E-11 are both the wrong heat range, and gapped too wide for use in a turbo application.

Try changing the gap on the BKR7E's. I used .028 but you can go all the way up to .035 on those depending on your ignition. Play around with it, and make sure all the wires are seated and haven't come apart.

Also, the ECU may have retarded the timing maps from using the wrong plugs. Try unplugging your battery for 10 minutes, and then drive around for an hour or two to let the ECU re-learn everything.

will that work? cause i put the old ones back in and its fine now,. but if i reset the ecu by taking off - cable then drive with the right plugs will it learn the timing and all again? ?

I have used the BKR7E plugs forever without any issues at all. I'll usually not even gap them down at all..has been fine up to 15 psi so far..even running hella rich too..I believe the stock gap those come with are around .035-.032"
