i have the star stage two and runing 5psi ,put my car on dyno and only made 143 hp. would a boost leak make me loss hp but still hit the 5psi? i mean i have alot done still stock internals for now but i mean thats low. helllp

first off i am not an expert
but if your gauge is saying 5psi
then it is reading 5psi
now your gauge could be messed up

before you go tearing into things thinking you have a leak
check to make sure you actually have one

What kind of dyno?

Where is your boost gauge tapped for signal?

Were you using the dyno's wideband sensor? What was the A/F curve like?

Was it / does it break up somewhere in the powerband?

SO many variables, so little info. tisk, tisk.

it was at a car show i just did it to mess around. all they did was put something on my sparkplug wires. the boost gauge is at the 3 tee in the back of the mani. on the dyno graph it looked like a roller coaster up and down then at 5.6 to 6.2 it was all broken up like spaces the guy said that it was not reading a signal anymore and thats what the gaps were there.

Do you have an A/F gauge (crap blinky light, digital voltage readout, whatever) ? An EGT gauge? A fuel pressure gauge? any sort of tuning and diagnostic aid that could help me to help you?

i have all the gauges. blinky was in green, the voltage was at .97 to .96, egt was at like 1000 but its taped in the downpipe right after turbo. fuel was just under or right at 60 with 30lbs accel's and the sfmu

why would you have to run rich with a front mount? the whole point in running rich(er) is to avoid detonation....but at 5psi i highly doubt you're maxing out the octane you're using. .92-.94 should free up some ponies yes, .96 is pinned full rich...and theres a huge difference between full rich and decently tuned. you have a bleed valve on your sfmu?

it dampens the fuel curve, its used for fine tuning the max boost fuel pressure and will directly affect your air fuel ratio.

do you happen to have an afc? that would work better in this case

Be carful running 9 psi. Stock internals don't handle poorly tuned boost well.

Also use the search. Pleanty of people here are running #30s and a SFMU. I am using that same setup and I use the largest disk with the short dark spring, idle pressure is about 18-20 psi. Of course Im running between 11 and 13 psi on forged pistons and don't have near as large of turbo you do. Your best off using the search and finding what pressure you need for a similar setup.

Man, at 5psi I tuned all the way down to like .88 on my o2 sensor before I got knock and EGT too high. .97 is stupid rich. You probably have black soot all over your back bumper. If you have SFMU, use bleed valve and idle pressure screw to back fuel off a little at a time to get that o2 reading at ~.92.
