I'm looking to reinstall my turbo after about a year and a half now. I was having major misfire problems due to a bad crank sensor that took just that long to diagnose and repair. I have a brand new turbo that has been waiting. The only problem is that the downpipe connection is different on this one. I purchased a flange that fits it, but I have no way to get it to the shop to have the pipe bent, fit and welded without a downpipe. What am I supposed to do? Also, I was looking at HRC's setup and their 3" downpipe and their manifold is exactly like only mine is old and beat cast iron, but I have a t3 turbo? The flange is 3bolt triangular, everything looks like the hrc picture. Does the HRC 3" really clear the A/C? Would this be an option for me? Any way to tell if it will bolt up to my turbo?

Also the wastegate is internal 5bolt.

Otherwise, get creative with some corrugated metal dryer exhaust pipe, hoseclamps, and wake the neighbors }(

is it that bad to drive it to a shop with no down pipe hooked up? sure you will get a bank 1 & 2 CEL code,but you can clear those after you get the downpipe made. is there any other negative affects of doing that? well besides noise a fumes? i cant think of any

Other negative effects of you doing that is everyone looking at you and thinking yoru car is a piece of shit because of how obnoxiously loud it is. I once had to drive across town for something when my o2 sensor was removed, it was loud as hell and embarassing. Oh yea and if you drive by a cute girl, you'll be slouching your way down to the floor.

Not to mention melted power steering lines and cooked paint on that side of the engine bay...

13-1400 degree gases and your engine bay do not mix. A small exhaust leak is one thing, but a no DP will mean you are basicly cooking everything to the left of the turbo.

just buy a 2 1/2 u bend cut it right in the middle and weld it to your 3 bolt flange or tack it and take it to shop to weld it.

Besides the obvious heat damage, running with no downpipe or front 02 sensor makes the car run like SHIT. You will not be able to go over 10-20mph, and the car will stall badly.

Seriously tho, a dryer hose with the o2 sensor shoved in there will get you to the muffler shop.

ok ok ok i didnt even think about heat damage lol.

Ok. It's not nearly as easy at it sounds. I got the intercooler and turbo on and there is VERY VERY little room between the wastegate and the ps/ac... I have no clue how im going to get it to the exhaust place and I think hes going to charge me a fortune because there is so little room. :-/ My old 2 1/4 dp design fits but will not work. I'll take that with me as an example for whoever does the piping.
