84498, how much fuel pressure in return line?
Posted by GSGoinFast, Mar-31-05 09:31 AM
hey i installed my vortech fmu today. i used fuel injection hose for the fpr->fmu connection. but i used fuel/emissions hose rated at 50psi for the fmu->tank connection. is that strong enough, or should i go buy fuel injection hose? that shit is expensive. how much pressure is normally in the return line? thanks

return lined isn't pressureized to the best of my knowledge...or if it is it certainly isn't anywhere close to 50psi, maybe in the teens but thats it.

you will be fine. although if you placed your FMU in the engine bay i would not run any ruber hoses under the car, only S/S.

you'll be ok...I asked this same question a year and a half ago...mine is fine. I could use a few more zip ties to hold it up to the bottom of my car though...LOL like whodatt illuded to. :)

DO NOT run rubber hose underneath your car. Not only is it very dangerous but it's not NDRA or NHRA legal. If tech ever actually gave a damn you wouldn't ever make it to the staging lanes. Either use SS lines or hard line.

hmmm well both lines are only 2 feet long. the fmu is mounted right under the passanger back seat. i think that should be ok right? i do have a rubber vac line running under the car tho. is that cool or should i buy some of that SS loom stuff from autozone lol.

I used the original line for my return, and ran some new 3/8" hard line from Summit. It's cheap.

the line i have running from the fpr to fmu is identical to the original return line. that think injector tuping. but it was like $10 for 2 feet. i dunno im just gonna leave it for now. is my vac line alright being under the car?
