hey anyone with a SSBOV how far did you have to turn the screw in on the back to get the correct setting it seems like i have to turn it it alot! or it opens too easily

mine is loosened all the way... should be at low boost settings. otherwise it won't blow off. oh.. and mines doesn't leak. did you buy a used one by any chance?

does your bov appear to stutter when it blows of at lower boost eg. 2, 3 psi, it blows of nice and large when i gun it, but at low boost <5 psi it sounds like it does a double or triple blow off, just wondering if this is normal, i cranked my screw all the way in and it still blows off! i'll mess with it moreand see what's up

Jamesman.. that's not blow off.. it's compressor surge. at idle.. pop your hood, take your intake filter off your turbo and rev the engine using the throttle cable.. at low boost you will see that the hks ssbov doesn't allow enough compressed air to blow off and you will actually see the compressor wheel try to fight the flow by almost stopping.. causing this tsh tsh tsh tshhhh noise. I always wondered about that too.

you think if i get a softer spring or i cut the one in there that it will help any? or anyone else ever try anything to remedy this?

it might leak at idle if you cut the spring. these ssbov's aren't made for only 5psi.. hks is assuming you're boosting what some stock low compression turbo cars are boosting like the 14psi in the gst.. or the 9psi in the 2nd gen supra and mr2.
