I just talked to a guy the other day and he wanted like $150.00 per pipe(to chrome), and thats with me cleaning the powder coat off. I think he's trying to screw me so I'll probably look around. If anyone knows of a good chrome shop please let me know.

Why thank you sir!! Means alot. I love your car btw, she's hot. The last time I checked on the coating for the mani and exhaust housing was going to be around $100.00. I didn't think it was too bad of a price. As for my engine bay I'm a little worried about the cleanliness of it. I'm getting ready to paint the car, and I'm gonna do a complete color change and graphic. I'm worried about over spray getting on my valve cover and other stuff.

Jet coating $15 ft 2.5" pipe and $20 ft for 3" or large or try www.hardpipes.com I just got some chroming done from him AAA+++ quality cheap.

This is so far with the new setup. You can barely see the secondary fuel rail for the Portfueler. It is further along but no recent shots.

How did you get your intake manifold like that? looks sweet...

Just spray it with copper gasket sealant and it will turn gunmetal.

Looks like it was hit with a sander and then lots of polishing...

yeah it is work...I just started mine. The demel wire wheel bring the shine out and polsih from there. It a bitch sanding all the pits out. start with 40 grit.

Here is a better picture of my engine, also pictures of 2006 BOTI in Orlando,FL. I ran a disapointed 13.5@105 with broken spider gears. They broke(I guess) at the starting line, good thing it didn't broke the tranny case in the lane.

On that turbo i never got a tune off of that. i had an older turbo before that. i made 243hp on 7 psi, and that was just a walbro 340 fuel pump not ever tuned. it ran a 14.2 at 5280ft track level. now i have a another turbo. it should make over 400hp on 14 psi.

You might want to save yourself alot of agravation and go ahead and install the GM sensors before you put your engine back in.

Well since it's been bumped up and my engine looks the best it's ever looked (even though some of you chose to make fun of my shield for the timing belt) here are some pics I took the other day. As for the shield as I stated once before it's there for protection, I don't care what a condom looks like as long as it works.

Sorry there's not too many shots showing everything, I got a little happy with the macro mode on the camera.

Ok, not sure how this happened, but this next pic was taken right after the previous one with the car running and yet... it doesn't look like it.
Now for the pics of my shield. :D When I changed the HG the first time, I cut the timing belt cover like a lot of guys do. I worried though about something getting in or the alt/accessory belts breaking and getting caught in the timing belt. I worried about it even more after a bolt destroyed my timing belt. Then, after putting everything back together again and driving a bit I realized the belts were walking a bit, so I was REALLY nervous by now. It was my fault, I realized the crank pulley wasn't on all the way, last time I eyeball it :) Which brings me to today. I figured what the hell maybe I can make a little shield that would protect the timing belt from the other belts. So here it is (yes it looks like crap b/c I used tin snips to cut the metal instead of a saw, oh and the drill got outta hand and bent it)

Believe it or not, it's 2"... Been wantin to get 2.25, but gonna wait till I get an FMIC and hafta redo the piping anyway. Right now it's 2in, 2out - not ideal but it's workin alright. I just had to run my wastegate line from the manifold to make sure it pushed like I wanted!

You gotta start somewhere... I used to run around with some bootleg intercooler pipes just so i could boost. You get my props!

lol, yeah when it's made of lower radiator tubing off of semi's and exhaust pipe i guess it'd be considered bootleg... Rock on! Did the math thought, and it's not restrictive/inhibiting at my CFM/boost level, so i figured what the hell

I got it about a year ago for about $100 ( they go a lot more on ebay), fit was good, no problem, just used some screws to hold it.

Those were progress pics from last spring when I got it back from being repainted (hence no front bumper haha) and I was ditching the ecu,all of the engine harness wires, p/s, ac, cruise, evap, egr, and doing the MS engine harness from scratch and hiding as many wires as I could. I have to get some new pics with the vc letters polished, polished 20g, hrc 3" dp back on, and engine bay all clean. I dont post much I usually just do alot of reading, but I remember I was finishing mine up when you posted pics of your harness tuck. I loved your engine bay and I've always love white/black top talons, I give you props for the cleanliness of yours!

You guys that are moving the stock ecu -- where are you moving it to? are you extending the wiring harness or is the harness long enough to get it to its new home? Any pics of its new location?

Yours and taclipses bay look great because of it, so much cleaner.

They aren't using the stock ECUs anymore, they are using Megasquirt.

OK, didnt realize they were removing the stock ecu from the car entirely. Was under the impression stock ecu was still being used for other functionality (gauge cluster, etc)

Megasquirt is driving the stock gauge cluster now. I completely removed the ecu and all of the factory ecu harness.

Excellent, you can tell Ive been away for a while -- we were still using the stock computer for the gauge cluster when using MS "way back when..." You werent even a member last time i was active here haha

I want a good Manifold. There are people making them but, I want to see them fitted before i go buying one. It would suck to spend 400+ on a paper weight.
