im sure this has been asked but i searched and didnt come up with much. I can get parts from a 2g Tsi for basically free. Im always low on cash so i started to think if this is a good idea. Should i take the T25 turbo and the intercooler out of the tsi and just mod it in a custom setup. I'm not looking to run more then 5-7psi. Thats another problem. I read that the stock T25 doesnt go any lower then 12psi. Is there a simple way to get around this? What other parts should I take out of the Tsi that would help me on this. I can get a custom downpipe made for cheap and same with the intercooler pipes. So i was wondering if this is a good idea. Im in college and dont have the money to buy a kit so i really want to find a way to make it work. im most worried about if the lowest i can run the T25 is 12psi. and should i still upgrade the fuel pump and other parts. sorry if this has been asked many times if it has.....also a very random question...sence it will take me a while to get all the parts together and ready I was wondering if cutting off the stock TSi muffler and welding it in place of my stock muffler will give me a deeper sound, just something that would take about 30 minutes and i thought i could do untill i get all my turbo parts together. thanks for all the input.

Get a boost controller. Yes you will need to upgrade the fuel system. I could be alot more elaborate but seeing that any of this could easily be found in Things We've Seen Before I'm not really amped up to give detailed answers.

okay, sorry all but i was misinformed by this guy. I went to check it out today, turns out that he has a 1st gen Tsi. It was either a 90 or 91. He also is looking to get 400$ for it. sorry if these are stupid questions but....would i be able to get enough parts to use on my 95 Esi to make up for the 400 i pay for it. all i could think of is the turbo, then BOV, and the intercooler. yet again, sorry for such a stupid post but its kinda a strange question. thanks for your time and help

Personally, I wouldn't mess with it. I would just wait and save to get the right parts.

A T25 is a POS turbo and not worth the time to customize everything just to use it.

In matters of necessity you could use the turbo, smic and stock bov but that's about it.

$400 for the three parts or the whole car? It's a 14b turbo and since it's ~15 years old, definately have it checked out before you buy it.

If you do end up buying it, you'll be on your way to a pretty cheap turbo kit. :thumbsup

boost controller isnt going to do anything to help him, boost controllers can only raise boost, not lower it.

if its $400 for the whole car, go for it and part it out, you will make your money back in no time.

Yah definately look into this a bit more and if I were you I would definately start doing some research on turbo'in a 420A. This site has will be the best resource you will ever find!

Dude.. fuck the T-25... Get a 14B much more potential. I am selling my 14B and I'll let it go for $130 shipped. Let me know if you want it. There is minimal shaft play on it, nothing major and I was told it spooled great until he removed it from the car. This came from a 1990 GSX and had 80K miles on it.
