83494, Anyone used the Blox fmu?? Posted by GSGoinFast, Mar-08-05 02:07 PM
Ok, so i was looking on ebay for a fmu, and running accross this blox one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33553&item=7960003985&rd=1 i threw it into the search and only got 2 threads, one was from that fuzion guy just saying it was in this kit, and the other was just some guy asking about it but no one said anything about it. looks just like the vortech. any good? or should i shell out the extra $100 for a real vortech fmu?? thanks

Or or or...A PELICAN! If low boost is your game and you intend to leave her as such then I don't see a need for a stand alone system.

Well from the description on the Ebay page, it looks like this is a new company..It says that they are going to release products in the next few months under the Blox name..So my guess is that no one runs this yet, since it's so new. It looks nice, but I'd be very wary of buying one until you can find at least several people with personal experience with one..If all else fails, just save up for the SFMU..Keep checking the sale section, as these come up every once in a while, esp when there are more and more guys going with the megasquirt setup from the SFMU setup.

I just got my SFMU and am impressed with the quality and I think it'll be perfect for low boost. Tunable is what makes the SFMU SUPER!!. lol

$107 for a knock-off vortech FMU or $140 for a real vortech FMU. $33 ain't much.

Word to the wise. DO things once. Save money until you can get all the parts you really want rather than buying stuff to just get you by.

ok i think im gonna try this Blox unit out. Someone said they wouldnt try it unless they knew other people that have tried it with success. well someones gotta be the first person right? and hey, if it works good, then theres a new cheap fmu for us to use. and if it sucks, whats the worst that could happen?? i blow my engine?? pff! :rolleyes
wish me luck
