Hey guys, I'm thinking about buying a turbo "kit" from someone, however, it's a reversed mounted turbo setup and I haven't seen this setup on any car here yet...well at least not in the last 30 mins that I've been searching. The guy swears that he had no clearance issues even with AC still installed. It's a T3 turbo and a custom manifold and downpipe. The turbo flange on the manifold is angled slightly upward and positioned further to the right(driver's side)than compared to a star manifold. So it appears that this could work for this setup. Check out the pics and let me know what you guys think. Thanks for help

the only thing id worry about is the mani pointing upwards. i dont think it would fit like that, or if it does it will be very close to the hood. but then again who knows.

not really an ideal set up, but because of the offset on the manifold you should still have enough clearance from the hood and fan shroud even with it being angled upwards.

The avenger hood clears turbos a bit better than the eclipse. Regarless, no reason it should not work.

Edit: After looking at the pics closer, that angle does look a bit extreme. BUT if he say's he had it on an eclipse and it worked then I don't see any problems you just bolting it on.

I was gonna take a chance on it, mainly because I'm curious and it's different. But I do wonder about the hood hitting the turbo. I'll see if he has pics of the kit installed on his car.

Make SURE you clock your CHRA so that the oil flows the right way .....most if not all turbos have the oil inlet facing to the turbine intake side...which would be down in your case...so you wana make sure the oil flows downward allways....drain allways on bottom

looks like a manifold made for a Neon DOHC engine

if the turbo is small it should fit ok on an Avenger

Alain, brought up a good point...so I doubled checked the specs on the turbo and found out it's a "t3/t4 60-1 garret/turbonetics". This may be a little more than I need for my plans on my stock block. So I'm gonna pass on this but if someone else here is interested in the kit just shoot me a pm and I'll give you all the info I have and the price I was quoted.

If you were worried about fitment, why didnt you just bolt up the turbo n manifold to check clearances?

Gotta love winter
