Glad to hear its running! I wanted to stay for the whole install, but it got to where there wasn't much I could do, plus not being able to feel my toes or fingers, lol. When do you want me to pick up the bumper? Friday after 4 and anytime saturday are best for me. Anyway, glad I could come out, I had a great time, and I hope ya get that leak fixed.

good stuff dude...i got my intercooler today, i guess HRC redid the pipes because mine look different than yours (or at least the bottom section of the upper pipe looks diff). btw, check your PM.

83272, RE: Turbo Install Pics Posted by eclipsekaiser, Mar-01-05 05:11 PM
Install looks really good. Like Cyan said, the Lower IC pipe looks different than all of the other HRC pieces that I have seen. Mine looks like Cyan's new shiny FMIC (Cool kit by the way)

Thanks guys, I realized today on the way to work I need a major brake upgrade. A mustand and a 3000gt rolled up at the same time and we all just took off and just after I was getting into it a car pulled in front of me and I had to jam on my breaks and realized that our stock setup wasn't made for this type of braking.
Next on the list big brake upgrade!:thumbsup

*me drools*
These pics make me very excited. Except the "doing it in the driveway part" lol
|
83290, RE: Turbo Install Pics Posted by Aggression, Mar-02-05 05:17 AM
nah man the rebuild is definatly coming because already 7psi just isn't going to be enough. But I will need to be able to stop as well.
What brake setups do you guys have?
|
83292, RE: Turbo Install Pics Posted by WIDECLIPSE, Mar-02-05 05:36 AM
BAER has 2 new sets coming out. 6-piston fronts and 4-piston rears. They are called the 6r and 6s. The 6s I think is about $2300 and the 6r is like $3000. The 6r has some option to remove the top part of the caliper to replace the pads quickly or some bullshit.

just get some gsx calipers, stainless lines and brembo rotors with some good pads and call it a day!
i started at the stop line and worked my way back to the start. with brakes first, suspension next, then boostilicious }(

^^^ The difference between our stock brakes and gsx calipers with new rotors is like night and day. I'm running just GSX calipers with brembo blank rotors and its stops on a dime.
BTW, nice install pictures and now you are infected with the boost bug!
 Gotta love winter

Damn nice pics... get some digi-vids up of her idling and boosting :P I just got my Star Stage 2 kit the other day.. can't wait to start the install (DAMN Canadian winters never end)... what would you say was the hardest part of the install?
|
83406, RE: Turbo Install Pics Posted by Aggression, Mar-06-05 02:07 PM
getting the damn bolts out of the cat-converter...start putting WD-40 on them right now and repeat until install.
I will post some vids soon!

LOL.....I think that was the same issue I had. We never even took off the DP or cat though. We just cut the DP where it stood cause those damn bolts did not want to come out.

83588, RE: Turbo Install Pics Posted by Aggression, Mar-11-05 12:56 AM
Yah I was about to seriously get the grinder out and cut them bolts as well. HEHE!!!
Its just crazy how tuff they are to get off...my friend and I were both pulling on them with a breaker bar attached to the wrench and the bolts were sprayed with PB nut Blaster days before the install.
Crazy!!!

:thumbsup I got the 13" baer setup with corvette c4 calipers for 675 from machV.com
and the rear are 11.5" aem that were 299 form machV, they use the stock caliper though.
And this is how my pipe from the throttle body to the FMIC looks... did you run yours through the hole that the factory air box goes too?
|
83599, RE: Turbo Install Pics Posted by Aggression, Mar-11-05 08:36 AM
Yep ran it through the factory hole and looks exactly like yours does. white96gs from the board cut a hole for it to elbow down right under the fuse box to connect to the other piping that goes direcctly to the ic. Pain in the butt!!!
|
83602, RE: Turbo Install Pics Posted by SilverBullet20g, Mar-11-05 10:05 AM
You might want to consider running stock size rotors if you plan on using slicks or drag radials. I have to take off my AEM big brake kit cause I need slicks now. :cry
Nice setup, I like the "action" pics at night and all the different views. It brings back the good ol days of a bolt on kit that you can do at your house. Good work! :thumbsup

83644, RE: Turbo Install Pics Posted by Aggression, Mar-12-05 04:55 AM
Yah actually I have decided to go with a cross-drilled/slotted brembo rotor that is the same size as stock that has the zinc to reduce rusting. I show my car as well, but I am getting more into the performace end of it.
I will get more pics of the engine bay once I finish getting everything powdercoated and installed.

yah it was, there has to be a better way to run those IC pipes, would probably have to make some custom pipes yourself though.
