8321, Compression test after 6 boosted months...
Posted by Jeff_99gs, Sep-12-01 05:11 PM
Well after being boosted for 6 months, and almost 6 thousand miles, I changed my spark plugs and did a compression test.

Results:
#1: 205
#2: 204
#3: 205
#4: 210

So it seems my engine likes it's turbo. Maybe I am just a lucky one, or my day just hasn't arrived yet. But so far, so good.

Pretty much every time I hit the gas, the manifold sees a lot of positive pressure, so its not like I am babying the car.

Some info:
'99
27,403 miles
5,846 boosted miles
Stage 1 installed April 14th, Stage 2 installed July 8th.
Took several long trips, including 8 hours up and back to Ohio, and 6 hours up and back to upstate New York twice. (both from Maryland)

Just thought I would share.

Jeffs car is still a baby at 27K but 160 aint great either. Could be the administration of the test giving the wide spread in numbers.

just did my compression test (going to put in turbo) and it came out 195, 205, 205, 209.(and no oil on any of the spark plugs)
I think the first one is lower prob. 'cuz I did not screw it in tight enough.
So I think I'm ready for turbo baby!
