8311, need some help. buying turbo soon. Posted by GSound, Sep-12-01 02:51 PM
sup everyone. recently, i decided i wanted to buy a turbo. i've been looking through the posts, to get a good idea of what i should do. and i've done some of my own research.
so far i'm thinking of buying the HRC stage 1 turbo kit. I was wondering, how long would my car last with a HRC stage 1 turbo kit if i were to be boosting 5 psi-6 psi with no other mods done to the car. currently i have around 28k miles on my car. it's a 99 eclipse gs.
also, would my car be dependable as a daily driver? i have to drive to school 5 days a week. can i depend on my car with the turbo kit on it?
i appreciate any help i can get with this. i'm a really skeptical person about turbo. oh yeah. 1 more thing. does any1 know if there's superchargers for our cars? i heard that the vortech v5 does work with our cars, but you would have to move the battery to the trunk. and i heard a bunch of companies are in development for one, but i don't know if that's true or not.
thanks

Nope, no superchargers.
Stage 1 running 5psi will last a long time as long as you keep your fuel system tuned properly and your exhaust temperature stays within reasonable temperature.
