8231, Injector question..(attn Murix)
Posted by Jeff_99gs, Sep-09-01 05:07 PM
I know some people found that domestic injectors work well with the turbo 420a... Which ones were those? And what size are they? Prices?

Also, will the FPR that comes with the Hahn kit work well in combination with the stock one and the larger injectors?

It looks like I'll be buying a short block soon to build up.
Stage 3 here I come!

Thanks.

Look for Bosch injectors from a GM (LT1 is where mine came from). If you stay under 30lb/hr, the stock ECU *should* (noone I know of has tried it yet for sure) handle it fine with the rising rate fpr. Go larger and you will need an AFC to properly control it.

Actually I plan on getting an SAFC this winter anyway, so what would be an acceptable size to get keeping that in mind? I am hoping to have built internals by this spring/early summer.

What size are the LT1s? 450cc? Bigger? Also how much do they go for?

Thanks again.

actually, smaller. A 450 (I believe 42lb/hr) is large for a V-8. Consider that they have 8 of em so they can go smaller. That is the only downside to it. A 42lb/hr is as large as you should go with an AFC anyway. You might have to look a bit harder for that size, but they are out there.
