for some reason i have developed an air leak between my turbo housing and downpipe

other than the fact that it drives me crazy that i know its there
what problems will it cause
my short term fuel trim at idle is ranging between -5 and +5
so i dont think it is affecting the air fuel much
and i am finally holding steady boost pressures

i know i should just get a new gasket and fix it but that dp is a PITA to get off and on

ASFAIK, it shouldnt make a difference in anything besides sounding like crap beacause its after the turbo.

Kinda weird but I have the same problem. I know I have a leak at the DP, and I was using a band clamp to try and seal the leak which worked ok. During that time I was at 50psi for fuel pressure using both the stock and MSD fuel pump. I switched to a walbro 255 hp and switched the band clamp and all of a sudden I have +5psi. No matter what I do though I cant get the FP back down to 50.

i decided to try and fix the hole in the gasket between my turbo housing and DP

seeing as how lazy i am and in no way shape or form want to take the DP off again
i plastered JB weld on the hole
that should hold until i get a chance to take everything off and get a new gasket

Sounds like a great opp. to upgrade to the 3" dp with the V-clamp that only has 1 bolt!! I can't wait to get mine this summer .... you're right, taking the dp off is a pita.

i would love to get the 3" DP
but until i can match it with a 3" cat and exhaust it seems kinda like a waste

would i see any performance at all hooking a 3"DP to the 2.5" cat and exhaust

You would if you buy mine and get the optional 3" dump. ;)

what is a 3" dump

Basically a dump valve. When you open it, most of the exhaust travels out the dump (it just vents to the outside) as opposed to the entire exhaust system. It's nice, because during daily drives, you keep the dump closed and the exhaust is nice and quiet, but when you really wanna get on it, open the dump and stand on it :)
