I am going to unconnect the braided line that connects to the fuel rail, then I am going to install a "T" fitting so I can run a braided line to my fuel pressure gauge. If my car has been sitting for 3-4 weeks without being ran, do I need to worry about pressure or gas still in the lines? Or can I just unconnect install and be done? Or do I need to pull a fuse or relay or anything?

BTW, is teflon paste better to use or is teflon tape the same difference, I think paste would seal better, but I am no automotive expert.

You arent going to put the fuel press gauge IN the car are you? you definitely do NOT want to have a fuel line running anywhere near the inside of your car.....

.. just disconnect the negative battery cable when messing with anything on the car... no fuse pull needed, i dont think..

depressurize by opening the gas tank cap, and pulling the hose of the return line at the stock pump (under the passenger seat).. some fuel will spill out and down under onto the garage floor, so be ready..

..Use teflon PASTE.. you dont want the tape to shred and clog the lines.

Well, I was going to put the fuel press gauge in my car, I have a fire extinguisher under the seat and i figured with a healthy portion of teflon paste, it should be ok, then I realized I'm crazy :-) So it's going in the engine bay where it belongs, and the pyrometer is going in its place.

If its an electric fuel pressure gauge it will have a sender and wont have any lines going into the interior. If its not you NEED an isolator that keeps keeps fuel lines out the interior. While the car is running pull the connector from the fuel pump (pull the back seat out by pulling the two tabs, unscrew the metal cover on the passenger side, pull the connector out. dont make any sparks) and let the car die. this depressurizes the fuel system

Thanks a lot for helping me out guys. I thought it was electric until I got it, so I am just going to mount it in the engine bay, too bad its not in the cockpit, but ohh well... that will come later on, expecially if I get the NOS going again.

Can a competent muffler shop weld a cracked manifold and install a EGT probe? I'll call one in the morning when they open.

BTW, thats some fucked up shit that happened today, huh? I work retail while i'm in school and the store was dead empty all day... Go fill up you gas tanks.
