Does anybody here use an OE Evo muffler? a friend got a cat back for his evo and said i could have the muffler, will it work? the reason i ask is bc that muffler works on gas pressure but i'm only running 7 psi right now, i don't know if that's enough. Also, I have an Apexi WS cat back for the RS right now, should i just leave it like it is? I appreciate any input guys :thumbsup

I thought of that too, but did not have one available to use. That thing should flow enough for 300hp give or take, and be nice and quite :).

Well, you figure that the max boost that an evo runs is 16 psi, 19 psi at spike, but goes back down to 15 or so... IMO it would work for any boost. No matter what it would outflow the stock muffler

I was thinking that too. Now, would i see any improvement compared to the world sport apexi i have on right now?

the Evo muffler exits on the opposite side. your main issue will be the off-set inlet and stagger of the exhaust tip. It may require some "jacking" around but would flow enough to support a daily driven 12-15psi.
It's funny, because I just recently ran a benchflow test on the Evo muffler which was just over 430cfm @ 80deg in 25" of mercury.

^^^ May be a better choice since it's same side. Hell the WRX muffler would work and has dual tips to keep that OEM look.

Would this numbers be better than the Apexi WS

not likely... most OEM exhaust systems have taken a huge stride towards being efficient, however they still have to be federally compliant on all levels. To do this a seperating point and packing material combination is usually used in the muffler. The Apex "should" still out flow .
