What would water and alc. injection do for a stock block ? In other words could you use it to gain higher boost levels ,say past 10 psi w/ a proper fuel setup ?

Theoretically, water/alcohol injection's benefit is the way it cheaply increases the octane rating of whatever gasoline you're using. While I wouldn't consider it a substitute for a proper intercooler and a forged bottom end, I would imagine you could turn up the boost a little bit if you were running water. The trick would be to find a system which would activate not only at a certain psi, but also when engine speed (rpm) and IAT were above preset levels....

Anybody else have any further input or ideas on this? On a side note Im talking about this setup as a FMIC and say a megasquirt fuel setup. Along with a good exhaust ,wideband O2 and other such needed tuning tools in order to push the stock internals.

People use it in place of an intercooler since it's purpose is to prevent detonation, cool intake charge, and the alc helps provide an octane boost but not a huge one.You just can't go too crazy with The whole Upping the boost..

Im not suggesting using this in place of a intercooler but with one. And runnig 10-12 psi. on still 93 octane.
