Im looking for some imput on making a log style manifold for the 420a. I was going to use the flange from turboflanges.com. Do you reccomend this flange and do you happen to know the thickness of it. Because i will need to machine it down after it gets welded up. Also, as for the weld els what size do you recommend? And who has the best turbo flange for the mitsu turbos (i will be using a 14b). Any pics of log manifolds would be appericated. And my dad will tig weld the manifold for me, hes been at it fo 25 years. Thanks for the input!

If you are going custom you should get atleast a 16g, it doesn't cost that much more..IMO

I'm using the flange from turboflanges.com for my equal length and it should work fine. It is at least a 1/2" thick, I would measure it but I already dropped it off at the shop last week...

for the flanges, gaskets, and other stuff:

buy a whole KIT to make your log manifold here http://www.jgstools.com/turbo/index2.html $150 get you started :).

Im running a 14B currently, and I would recomend getting a T3/4 style turbo. They will fit much easier and are more universal. Im NOT saying that it won't work, just easier with the T3/4.
If you want to view some pictures of my 14b log manifold, send me a email and I'll send you a invite to my imagestation account.

Well, if they are 1G M/T Turbo DSM injectors, you had best get some ballast resistors, too, unless you are running something like a Megasquirt...

holy shit that is a good link. did you use one of their kits? that is a very very good deal... but in the end I think it would cost almost the same as one of Alain's manifolds :D
