81736, fuel system questions? Posted by flamineclipse, Jan-24-05 09:28 AM
Ok so I've been searching forever for what injectors I should use to run 10-12 psi on my hrc kit. I called their tech line today and asked them what they thought. The guy said to run that I should get 270cc injectors and a recalibration kit.I thought I'd need 310cc's at least, and that seemed to be what I saw the most of from my searches here. I'm also planning to remove my loud ass inline m pump and put in my 255 pump. The guy from Hahn said that for anything over 10 psi the recommend the portfueler. I just don't think I need all that right now. I mostly show my car and go to the track for fun and I may put 2000-3000 miles a year on it. So what do you guys suggest? I'm not looking to get maximum hp out of my car, I just want a quick/fun car to drive and maybe beat up on some Mustangs a little.

Oh, you don't like altezza's? Too bad, your gonna get a good look at mine.

For about 10psi, the stock injectors should be enough. However, if you want to lower fuel pressure, then the 270's should do it.

I was at 110 psi of fuel with stockers on 7 psi and hated every second of it. Stock injectors really shouldn't be used for anything more than 5-6 psi unless running at full duty cycle ammuses you.

i just did the 270cc injector swap my stock injectors were running idle at 46psi on the dyno it was super rich the rpm's would flatline around 4k if you punched it i lowered the fp to 35 psi no dyno reports yet but the bogging at 4k rpms seems to be gone

So you guys think I should go with the 270cc's and recalibration kit for the craptech (mine actually holds the pressures I set). I think the portfueler is a little overkill at the moment. Or am I mistaken? :shrug

An SFMU would fit your application perfectly.

when i talked to hahn they said a recal kit was not necessary for their cartech unless you go to 310's
maybe i should call them back
or better yet get off my ass an get an aeromotive

I'm also not a big fan of high fuel pressure, and slightly bigger set of injectors will help reduce that. I believe if you go with anything over 270cc's, you'd run a little rich if you don't have any type of fuel controller. Just as an example (I know it's not the same figures) when I had 370cc's (300Z injectors) and a boost proportional fpr, the car would hesitate and bog in WOT at 9 psi, and the car wouldn't even idle. I had to hook up an S-AFC to lean out the fuel curve to make the car driveable.

so then on 270's what is a good psi to start with vacuum on or off?

I'm not familiar with HRC's new Cartech, but I had the older version. It came with two adjustment knobs--one to adjust the base fuel pressure and one for WOT fuel pressure. I'm guessing with 270cc's, idle fuel pressure would probably be in the mid to high 40 psi. Adjustments should be made after the injectors are installed, since everyone's setup is often different.

Anymore input on this would kick ass.

from what i understand you adjust the fuel pressure with the engine idling and the vacuum line removed
do i adjust it to 40-50 psi as stated now or do i shoot for 40-50 when i put the vacuum line back on
then the WOT setting as a base line i found on the cartech page that you should be getting around 100 psi of fuel pressure at 10psi of boost
75 psi of fuel pressure at 6psi of boost are these number anywhere close?

today i got a space to go to WOT on the highway at 10psi of boost my fp says 80psi
i think it should be more
