Sup guys.

I know I should as this question, since I did my own custom turbo setup before, and so on, but I am being paranoid lately about things.

I do'nt wnat to fxxk up with brand new EVOIII turbo again...
So I have to ask to just to make sure!

Is there anything I have to be carefull when:
1) BEFORE installing the 16G turbo on the car?
2) DURING the installation of the turbo?
3) AFTER installing the turbo before & after starting up the car?

Like break in? lube the turbo first? double check something? etc etc???

Don't touch any of the turbine blades ever.

Pre-lube the turbo cartridge with engine oil.

Test your turbo oil sender line for minimum 30psi oil pressure at idle, BEFORE mounting the turbo. Use a gauge for this obviously.

Test good drainage to the oilpan by pouring oil into the oil input of the turbo. It should not back up at all.

Never run the engine without the oil lines connected and oil pressure to the turbo.

Don't run your oil sender line from the head, run it from a tee on the back of the block.

Don't allow rocks, bolts, squirrels, water into your intake.

Fix all boost leaks, don't allow the turbo to over-rev by blowing into the atmosphere.

I opened up my new turbo to remove the nipple at the exhaust and intake side to rotate the turbo...
but I touched them????

what's wrong with it? BAD?

Let me as one thing.
this is for my friend thou.
If one of the fins on the turbine was bent (I mean like a 1 millimeter corner) and bent for about 5 degree. and he bend it back. is it ok for him? or ? It didn't crack, or anything.

those are calibrated and balanced carfully. him bending it and then bending it back might throw the balancing off. it will be kind of hard to tell could be fine or over time it could go to shit.

OK, but what if it's only less then 1mm bent.
I do mean less then 1 mm bent.

I know it will throw off the balance or etc, but is it significant enough to fxxk it up?

given enough time... yes. you gota remeber those things spin at incredible RPMs and are balanced with high degrees of precision, so yea... even that little can do damage. maybe not in the next week, but a lot sooner than would otherwise occur.

I want to confirm this.

I know engine needs to break in, and so on.
DOES a NEW Turbo also has to be break in? 100miles? 500? 1000?

I search, and cannot see that someone actually STATE that it IS REQUIRED!

So i want to confirm this!

to answer your question specificly... no, there is no real "break in" for a turbo.
just remember to pre-oil it first...

The only real advice I have is to make sure you have everything. All the Clamps and Vaccuum lines etc and that stupid oil pressure sending unit socket. A couple of us just finished up my turbo install this weekend and we had to keep going back to get little things. Good luck with the install.
