Well I checked my compression today and I got: around 212-115 across the board. My car is a '97 model with a little over 80k miles. Does those numbers sound a little high to you? I got a compression tester from advance auto and did the procedure listed on here. Or are those numbers normal?

FYI: I plan on boosting stock internals

115 is way too low compared to the higher number.

212-215 is right where you want to be. Those are great numbers, you should be fine running 5-7 psi.

Someone told me that the max compression on a stock 420a is 185. Is this true...someone please clear this up for me. I also heard that when checking your compression, you should hold your foot on the gas. when I did it, I pumped on the gas. Should I test again?

You're fine. Those numbers are towards the high end of the spec, which is 175 - 225psi hot.

175 up to 225 is perfect. You should be worried when it starts getting low. Higher compression is usually from carbon build up. Nothing to be worried about.
