I have an idea regarding your problem. Did you try changing your spark plug wires? I have a feeling that might be it, cause a friend of mine had a problem come up that didn't allow him to boost over a certain amount. It turned out that his spark plug wires died.

I have a set of 6 month old Magnacore 8.5's .. i don't think it's them. And yes, i'm still trying to figure it out, and i'm running out of ideas.

My setup is a plain jane star stage 2. No boost controller, 7 pound spring in the wastegate. I can hit max boost just fine, but if i give it a lot of throttle under boost it just falls on it's face... sputters, pops, looses power.
My sparkplugs are brand new. My plugwires are 8.5MM magnacore and they are less than six months old. After i replaced my plugs, i ran the new ones for a week and pulled one out... nice tan color. Looks like a new plug in a well tuned motor, no soiling, no deposits, just a nice tan porcellin electrode. Sometime soon, if i can get the daylight (ugghh.. gotta quit drinking so much..) i'm going to pull apart the fuel pump assy. and make sure it's sealing, since i'm not the one that did that part of the install. I just have my fingers crossed that nothing blows up or flys apart before i can get it running right.
