81243, Review of Extremepsi.com's triple gauge vent mount.

Ok I bought this product. $55 bux, free shipping. Its made out of metal and is powdercoated. There are bolt holes for your existing stock buttons to mount to. Its very perfect. The unit doesn't actually mount in the vent space. It simply sits in the grooves that are already in the car. At first I thought it might fall out, but ive dugged on it and it doesn't want to just come out. Very nice design, works and looks perfect.

Now. I have 3 gauges doing into it. Autometer water and oil temp, and www.wbo2.com's new wideband 52mm gauge.

http://www.wbo2.com/LA01/default.htm

Unfortunatly, they dont sell the gauge yet, but when they do, im all over it. I also plan on buying the new wideband brain box as soon as the gauge comes out.

Anyway,

Here is how it looks in my car. Don't mind the mess, im rewiring the car with a relay box i made.

Youll notice that I also installed my Apexi TT onto the gauge holder. Its going to come out very nicely.

The pics are very large, so i will let you browse to them rather than me post them here.

Tell me what you think!

why dont you just make the wideband gauge. its the same as the LDo1 but the light bar is individual Led's. All you really need to do is make your own board and gut a bad autometer gauge.

Yeah, I've been preoccupied with some family and work responsibilities. It's been one heck of a 2004 with a new baby. I can't believe that my car buildup plans could be set aside, but the cost of baby formula, diapers, daycare is quite taxing on anyone with a limited budget :(

My wiring looked like that for a LONG time. I eventually just got sick of it, and cut them all, and re-ran everything.

The ExtremePSI triple gauge vent bezel is painted gloss black, not powdercoated.

Interesting part, but I'm not a fan of giving up my cetner vents. The door vent maybe, but not the ones that actually move the air. :P Still, looks like a fairly decently made piece. I wouldn't pay $50 for one though. :shrug

And damn, Doug. I thought I had a lot of shit done to me car. Geeeeez. :bowdown

looks good...i would be more interested if i could leave that center hole as a vent and only have two gauges....make the middle hole look like the vents in a grand am or 3rd gen eclipse....

Well, take my word for it. I have the exact same bezel from ExtremePSI and I know the difference between painted and powdercoated very well. I also scuffed and re-painted mine a satin black to closely match my interior.

That should be fairly easy to do. Actually that's a great idea and I'm going to find a round vent I like and try that. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks... up until now it's been my daily driver (barely). However, my beater car just got registered and Tuesday will be the last day the Eclipse sees the street for awhile... as I attempt to bump it from 400 to 500 WHP. I'll probably keep going from there. I'd like to see your mod list... PM me or something.

so a satin black matches the black vinyl dash better? do you have a pic by chance?

Yeah, the satin black finish matches perfectly. I tried flat black at first but it's just as different as the gloss black from the black vinyl dash. I don't have any pics because it's just been installed but I'll try to get some soon.
