Man, I feel like a big BANME!, but I mine as well admit that I am. I bought the egr blockoff kit from here:

It comes with two plates: a small one and a big one. I assumed the bigger one is installed on the block. But I wasn't too sure about the smaller plate. I blocked the hole on the egr valve, leaving the steel hose (whatever its called) open. I thought it was kind of strange because this also leaves the other side of the egr valve open. Well, once I started the car, it began idling at 3k rpm!! What did I do wrong? SOrry for this BANME! post but I honestly did my search.

The larger plate goes on the head, the smaller one goes on the back of the upper intake manifold. You need to remove that EGR hardline and block off both the ports with the kit. Basically you have a huge vacume leak right now. Put the other plate on the intake and your good to go.

Didn't you look at the picture before you bought it? It shows where the larger plate goes. You just remove the pipe entirely and block off the openings on both sides. Make sure you don't lose the gaskets and put them back on before installing the plates.

I just installed my EGR block off from www.neongoodies.com . It came with a resistor to put between the wires of the EGR( prevents code ). I left my EGR in place and put the plates in between the EGR and pipe so upon state inspection visual it appears I have a working EGR.

DO THE RESISTORS ACTUALLY WORK? I NEED TO GET SOME OF THOSE TO GET RID OF MY CEL.

DOUBTFUL! The ECU tests EGR flow by closing the IAC and opening the EGR, a drop in rpm results in a 'Insufficient Flow' code.

i tried it and it didn't work for me. i get a cell code when it check for flow i think. i have a 95 also.
