Ive been trying them forever, but I suppose no one carries the NGK BKR7E plugs anymore. So I managed to find another plug that supposedly is equivalent. I got it at NAPA, its an AC Delco plug P/N AC FR1LS. Anyone know if this is the same as the NGK? I need a colder heat range plug ASAP. Thanks for the help guys.

Oreilly Auto Parts carrys that plug.

Advance Auto carries the NGK plugs... but NGK changed the part numbers... so you need to cross-reference the part instore...

Oh, and I would never use AC Delco plugs :)

And I run BKR6E plugs... they work perfectly fine... at 20psi daily :)

You could try looking for the NGK plug that Mopar spec'd out for the SRT-4... ;) NGK LTZTR5A-13

The gap is wrong and uncorrectable on the -11 plug. You want the regular BKR7E for turbo 420a applications.

Sweet, Ill try out the delco plugs and see how they are. Any recommendations on what to gap them to? Super16 @ 8psi, Screamin Demon Coil, DIS-2, MSD 8.5mm wires.

I thought turbo'd 420a's use the -11's

if you had a stock ignition
and the extra compression from the turbo would blow out the spark

Stock gap is .04. I don't believe NGK Changed the part number, they just have part numbers and stock numbers so you have to look in the book for the right stock number.

Just to update, I did install those Delco plugs, pregapped at .040 and they work like a charm.

Your spark isn't going to hold up very well under boost with a gap that large. ;)

Are you sure? I have a Screamin Demon coil and a DIS-2. Should I set the gap to .030? The car seems to have plenty of power at .040.

I'd go with closer to .030 for sure.
I hand gap mine to about that, if not smaller.

Not to beat a dead horse, but...

Manufacturers don't recommend adjusting the spark plug gap more than .008". The reason for this is the ground electrode and center electrode won't line up properly, hindering spark plug performance.

ok so what should we gap our plugs to? now im confused. i normally just put in 7e plugs and dont have any problems

I will regap to .035 and see what happens :)

BKR7E-11's are gapped already at what you would want a turbocharged cars plugs to be gapped it, least in our case. they are the ones ive used for over 4 years now. never re-gapped em.

from my testing in my car with a programmable dis2 and 17 psi boost using beru silverston s3f plugs, the best performance i have had is with a .032-.035 gap. At .040 I notice some high boost high end missing and anything lower than .030 i think is just too damn small.

WRONG, sorry. Please check your facts.

BKR7E-11's are gapped WRONG, .045 is a NON-TURBO GAP!

The BKR7E plug comes out of the box at .028. If you have an ignition system, you can experiment with widening the gap up to .036 safely.

Pulled the plug and regapped to .035. The car runs great, but I didnt really notice a difference between .040 or .035, same low and high end performance. The cars going on a dyno soon, Ill see what happens.

BTW, the delco plugs came pregapped at .040.
